I think there are many democrats who believe in "family values" as well. Party ideology is no different than belonging to a particular faith. Ask any Roman Catholic who votes.

Hypocrites and sex scandals are mostly Republican?
Jeez, give me a break. Clinton by himself makes up for every Republican in the past and for the next 50 years. Repubs should have a free sex scandal pass because of him.
At least Clinton, to his credit, showed NOW and all the feminists for who they really are.

Definitely. Pound for pound Clinton, JFK, and Teddy certainly count for more than just one each. You have to give them bonus points. (or perhaps that should be boner points).

Teddy certainly has to get bonus points for letting his love interest drown, not call the police, wait for the body to be discovered the next day, then pay off whoever he had to pay off to to get 2 months in jail...suspended.
Kennedy defines the saying "lower than snake ****."
In today's internet environment the exact same incident would have forced him to resign and he'd likely be doing life in jail.

You want to screw around on your wife? Fine - don't seek public office. Go bang your secretary as a corporate exec.
Really? Who gives a rat's ass where they stick their peckers? It has nothing to do with competence, and the only impact on policy, if any, is the hypocrisy of those who chastise others and then screw around themselves.

Right, but we come back to the discussion of a few days ago wherein I stated that I believe that we must distinguish between a simple dipping of the pickle outside of marriage versus other complications.
Ensign and Sanford voted to impeach Clinton for lying to Congress, not for cheating on his wife.
Similarly, Sptizer cheated on his wife but compounded it exponentially by breaking the law as a john which he was also sworn to uphold and had prosecuted others for doing . This is more than a simple dipping out of bounds.
And as I stated in that post (and this is somewhat in agreement with Padthai) I said that an affair such as Sanford's might be a basis for his wife shooting him or the voters not re-electing him (term limits aside, assuming for another office at some point). As hurtful as it is to his family, I am less sure that an affair alone constitutes a basis for removal from office. Again, when it becomes more than a simple dipping, I think you might remove for that reason. Example, this business of Sanford disappearing and being the subject of manhunt while charged with being Chief Executive is another dimension which I think the South Carolina folk can sort out. I do think there is a dimension there beyond the puritanical but the local people can figure it out.
John Edwards, for example, was/is simply a scumbag. Similarly, everyone and I mean everyone knew that Clinton was a lying, cheating womanizer when he was elected. If the people choose to elect that type of indivual, then so it must be. If Edwards had been elected, I dont know that porking Ms. Hunter is an impeachable offense. I believe that the job of shooting him or not properly falls to Elizabeth, not the voters or the legal system.
Ted Kennedy was/is a womanizer but again my issue is not with womanizing. He committed manslaughter and got off due to his family and political power. That is not a puritanical concern. No one wants to have thier family members killed.
And as previously discussed about JFK, a lot of his womanizing is something for his wife to sort out. However, when it rises to the level of sleeping with Sam Giancana's woman in the white house it is a major, major, security risk that goes far beyond any puritanican or ethical concerns. Holy Shoot. The guy lived dangerously.

Over 18 is helpful. The girls part is not necessary. Otherwise Barney would have been out long ago. Even running a prostitution business out of his apartment was not enough.

Not really. There is just a huge double standard when it comes to Socialist State Media Coverage of Democratic Sex Scandals.
Both parties have their share of scumbags and perverts. Look at all the Dems having Tax Issues this year. And the biggest tax cheat is responsible for the the tax code in the House. And look how the media ignores Obomber's illegal firing of an Inspector General who blew the whistle on one of his buds. If that was a Republican, there would be cries for impeachment.
The difference is Republicans are more apt to take responsibility for their actions, either through resignation, or the voters holding them to a higher standard and voting them out of office. Democrats tend to be not care about it, like Massachusetts, where Gerry Studds had actual sex with a underaged page, Barney Frank had a escort Service run out of his house, and of course the hopefully soon to be Six feet Under Teddy K. & his Amphibious Car Fail.
