SEO = Search Engine Optimization

SEO can cost from 2000 one time to 400/month
Some companies charges more then 1000/month

Bloging is free and you just have to submit the blogs daily to the search engine.

First getting leads for challenging and now internet has become so broad that it is easy and now managing the leads was geting challenging but also found great solutions to manage leads so it is working out great.

SEO can also be done in house, but it is very time consuming. Some SEO companies charge 100,000 a month, but they are in the porn gambling and medication areas, where you could make that back in a week.

Submitting to search engines hasn't worked since 03.

Yes you can do it inhouse.

I am not saying only submitting can work. You have to have your site crawled every month. And you should have more incoming links. There are lots of combinations.

For linking the blogging comes in play. When you write blogs you must have your site links. When search engine indexes the blog it will index your links too. That will make your link popularity high and eventually you will get high ranking on search engine.

Life Insurance Leads             Go to Top

I am not a life agent, however I have experience working for a life agent in the past. I made all of his marketing calls and set all of his appointments for him. Most "nights" calling I would average 8 leads.. out of 50+ calls. People that actually wanted to sit down, and listen to what my agent had to say.

I would say the biggest thing in marketing yourself or agency is in the approach with the call. Not to sound sexist.. BUT I had great luck I believe in sounding like a sincere, non-confrontational female... who just wanted to help. Men I do believe can approach the calls in the same way.. however the wording has to be fine tuned to fit the audience.

Not to give away all of my secrets... my husband said I should write a book on "phone sales" .....

BUT always keep in mind. Life insurance is for the "living" ---- for those who were left BEHIND... by the deceased -- sounds simple enough...

BUT most people when you are calling them think of life insurance for THEMSELVES. Yes, they are taking the policies out on THEMSELVES. BUT they are not the ones using it when they are GONE.

My phone approaches were always from a "real perspective", if you can make your potential client THINK--- then you will most likely gain them as a client sometime in the future! Just something to ponder.

Internet Leads             Go to Top

I have done it in the past for many agents. This was the problem that I ran into. Point blank they could never handle all of the appts. I had agents laugh at me when I told them how busy I would keep them. Always turned out to be true!

Including recruiting agents for the last corporation I worked for. On average I would have 5 agents appointed that I would recruit PER MONTH. My boss.. one of the owners could not get in touch with them in a timely manner. Some months I would have 8-10 agents waiting for him to call him that I had already interviewed and were ready to write our line of insurance.

I ended up leaving after recruiting for his company in 19 states bringing on over 110 agents that he could not really handle.

I guess to answer that question not right now. Only because I could not get paid enough to do it. Not to sound rude! : )

Not to put you on the spot because you seem happy at what you are doing, but in your experience what do you think a good telemarketer is worth annually?

No, you are not putting me on the spot at all..

OK here is a question for you .. from one sales person to another.

What is it worth to you?

My last employer offered me a "lower" salary.. with a bonus structure. After 2 years, over 110 agents in 19 states.. I never saw my bonus. Guess what I had though??? My low salary...

He refused to put anything on writing, I would bring up the bonuses every three months.. for quite a while. I knew what he was doing, and that was not keeping his word. I averaged about 300,000 per month in premuim dollars. SO I would have to ask again... what is is worth to an agent?

Yes, I am very happy. I love recruiting agents, I love my salary and the appreciation I get from my employers for a job well done-- daily. : )

GREAT response I would say it is worth a ballpark annual salary of $45,000 for 9000 leads. If I could guarantee you that salary, would you sign up?

That is an unethical way of doing business, but I cannot speak for anybody else's profit margin. If you don't mind me asking, what made you stay with him for 2 years if he wasn't backing up his word?

I picked up on that

Internet Leads../ Off topic             Go to Top

I am hoping some day to write a book for insurance agents.. about how to USE the phone. Sounds basic enough .. : )

ALso, some sales tips, marketing etc. I pitched to a company a few years back .. about being a guest speaker for an agent meeting .. regional. Putting together a program, true to life, funny etc.

Things not to say over the phone, things not to do in person, etc.

Let me let you guys in on some funnies..

I was interviewing someone who was waiting in our lobby. He did not know I was able to see him from my seat. He picked his nose... quite a few times. Then as I was walking towards him -- he had already stopped and put out the hand that was IN HIS NOSE!

I told him I had a cold and did not want to shake his hand. Seriously this HAPPENED. NOW how do you think he would act when I would send him out on the real interview for MY BOSS?

I suppose telemarketing is one method to generate lead flow.
But ultimately not as good as other methods.

Certainly the folks out their selling internet leads to others, in most
Instances, are the ones that are getting the better end of that deal.

I suppose buying internet leads can amount to decent lead flow and
Possibly consistent new business.

I've just never heard of anyone doing so in a consistent fashion.

There are plenty of agents doing very well selling off internet leads. You simply need a budget and they work better for agents with experience.
