Iowa Health Insurance Rebates

Just announced: 1,766 Iowans will receive a rebate from their health insurer. The average family rebate will be about $111 for a total of $147,246. That number is down from 2012 where 28,042 Iowans received $1,469,276. Does this mean premiums are getting to be more on target?

It means all those evil insurance co rate increases were justified

I haven't seen a breakdown of which carriers owed and which didn't. Wellmark BCBS didn't owe last year, but has gotten some of the highest rate increases approved over the years.

Wellmark still claims to have better than 85% MLR...they must have the big ole building on Grand paid off.

Thanks for the link! I couldn't help but post a couple of comments educating the low information crowd that seems to advertise their ignorance.
