Once again Al, you have no reason (valid as in fact) too suggest that Huckabee is what you are attempting to describe. America has far more to fear from the likes of the Left then they do from a Ex Baptist Preacher. One that could only be describe as someone much like Clinton, will say anything and take any political position that he/she finds beneficial that day. Yet it doesn't really matter, you and the far left will have much the same for any Conservative that seems likely to win the Republican nod in this election cycle. Plus, Huckabee is far from a Conservative, likely no closer then Bush, which isn't saying much.
Plus, who killed more, Hitler, Stalin or Mao? If you say Mao you would be correct, in fact Hitler doesn't seem to come close to the death count of either Stalin or Mao. Yet no one seems to talk much about them or have much hatred for the others as they do Hitler? In fact, Mao is all but a Iconic figure to the liberal/socialist.

Your words sound like religious hate speech to me but as with most of the left you feel that hate speech can only apply to jews, muslims, and perverts.

Some of the Muslim sects come close, but most don't.
Nothing scares those of 'minority' religions than 40 to 60 million rabid, born-again, lets convert the those heathens, bible thumping, cross burning, members of the the Christian tradition. We're scared to s--t of them... and for good reason. It wasn't the Jews or the Hindus or the Buddhists who had the missionary zeal to totally wreck ancient and/or native civilizations.
When I look at history and I asked who drove the trains to the concentration camps, who grew the food for the SS guards, who swept out the ovens, all I see are French Catholics and German Protestants... all members of the Christian tradition who bought into the 'master race' theology... which is not that far removed from Christian theology.
We have over 2,000 years of Christian dominance via prejudice, violence, torture, slavery, hatred, and the belief that god is ONLY on their side.
It hasn't been until the past 75 or so years that more 'enlightened' Christians worked to prevent the excess of the past. Lets face it, who fought and died in overwhelming numbers against the Axis powers... American Christians. And who have worked hard the past 40 years to undo so many of the "wrongs' of previous generations in regard to civil rights and tolerance... American Christians.
So its not ALL Christians that scare me... but the ones that have a xenophobic vision of a Christian state... headed by a Rev. Huckabilly... not unlike what we see in the Islamic states... that scares the hell out of me... and for good reason. I know my history.

With statements like the above you wonder WHY I'm terrified of people like you and Huckabilly who run the country?
If you liked Alabama of 1929 you're going to love Huckabilly's America in 2009!

You and he scare me to death.
Al
Why the Fear Factor for Al? No question, tyranny comes from the fear of fear, the search for Security over everything else. Yet it is never there, Nirvana has yet to be discovered and people like yourself will cause great tyranny if you get your way.

Al,
It might surprise you to learn that I am not a Baptist. You made an assumption, that because of my fathers belief I must share it. I share his ideals but not his religion. I have to wonder what happened to you as a child to make you so anti-christian. To me you are far scarier than any bible thumping Baptist. You would have me give up my religion all together in the name of progress, and equality.
And you misunderstood my earlier post. The government should be kept out of religion, especially a state sanctioned religion, but that does not mean that an individuals religious beliefs should not be reflected in thier political beliefs.
You read that my father was a minister and you made an assumption that I was a bible thumping right wing conservative. Based on that and that alone you interpreted things that I posted, and were prejudice to anything I said. Next time try to have a little perspective.

Fear is the breeder of Hate.
Al is a prime example of of the left, hates everything that is not like themselves, and is scared to death because they believe they will be treated like they want to treat others.
Its people like this who riot in the streets when thy don't get their way, thinking it helps their cause.
When their leaders are proven to be liars, they accuse other's leaders of being liars in order to justify themselves.
Because of their fear, they project the worst of themselves into others.
Christians are the biggest supporters of Jews, yet who does Al fear the most?
When Hitler tried to exterminate the Jews, it was Christians who came to their aid. Christians went to the concentration camps along side the Jews they helped.
Al, go get a copy of "The Hiding Place", by Corrie Ten Boom.
When Islam tried to exterminate the Jews, it was Christians who came to their aid.
Christians have bled, died, and spent their fortunes in order to defend Jews.
The simple fact that someone would mention "cross burning", proves a severe lack of understanding and knowledge.
Al, you obviously don't know your history, nor do you understand the Constitution.
Of course, you have an MA, go figure, no wonder your so full of hate and fear. Quit putting more weight into what some lib prof. says than what the actual document says. Why don't you quit reading other fear mongers, and go meet the people you claim are so horrible. Don't worry, they won't eat your children, at least not while you're looking.
Re: Jew? Hindu? Muslim? You ain't an American!Go to Top
It might surprise you to learn that I am not a Baptist.
I didn't assume anything about you. Why should I care if you are a Baptist or a Bull Terrier?
You made an assumption, that because of my fathers belief I must share it. I share his ideals but not his religion.
No assumptions were made. I read your post and answered it point by point.
I have to wonder what happened to you as a child to make you so anti-christian.
I'm not anti-christian. I'm anti-bigot. And what happened is that I've read, studied.. and lived some history.... something you obviously have never done... or you would not have written what you did.
To me you are far scarier than any bible thumping Baptist.
That's good. If the Huckabillys and the HuckGastapo followers know that we are not going to easily be converted to their brand of religious belief, all the better.
You would have me give up my religion all together in the name of progress, and equality.
Huh? Not only don't you know history, but you don't know how to read. Sweetheart, I don't care if you believe that if you die your soul goes to a parking garage in Buffalo. My point is don't create a state theocracy that makes me and everyone else believe it. Don't even go around telling me about it. I don't want to know what you believe in, I don't care, and it is out of line for you to try to impress me with it in the hope that I'll join you.
And you misunderstood my earlier post. The government should be kept out of religion, especially a state sanctioned religion, but that does not mean that an individuals religious beliefs should not be reflected in thier political beliefs.
Well, that is NOT what you wrote earlier. I could care less what you base your political beliefs on... Jesus, Tom Brady, Mickey Mouse... who cares. You have as much right to run for office as anyone else. And I have as much right to tell you that you are full of s--t as you have to tell me the same.
You read that my father was a minister and you made an assumption that I was a bible thumping right wing conservative.
We're back to that again? Where do you get that from? I objected to your total lack of historical perspective, not that your old man was a Baptist.
Based on that and that alone you interpreted things that I posted, and were prejudice to anything I said.
Oh, I see. Because you don't know the first thing about the political theory that this country was founded upon, it must be I who is prejudiced. What color sheets are we wearing these days? Is white after labor day still frowned upon?
Next time try to have a little perspective.
Your way of saying "Agree with me you non-believing heathen." Steph, get yourself a good tome on the history of Western civilization... read it... and then come back here and debate me. Keep your religion... keep your faith... but lose the ignorance.

Not too mention we were also there to defend the Muslim against Christians, as in the Balkins. People like Al, are basically lost thru their own fear which is a strong emotion, to say the least. I find liberal people willl erase everything the Founders of our Nation wrote and said in speech, except for a letter or two by Jefferson to the Babtist Convention and Adam's letter to the Muslims, yet everything else is erased to form a rather ignorant view of our history to base their beliefs/religion on. No doubt, American Liberalism of this Century is a Religion base on the faith of ignorance, fear and a false sense of equality.

Yeah, we Jews are out there all the time, throwing bricks and bottles at cops! (What part of Planet Zardo did you just fly in from?)

Who (what?) are you talking about?
Because of their fear, they project the worst of themselves into others.
We do? I don't think so. I think we're just trying to keep bigots like you from killing us (again.)
Christians are the biggest supporters of Jews
,
Now THAT is funny. Just how long HAVE you been a Jew. Must have been a long time in order to make such a definitive statement. Did I go to your Bar Mitzvah? I don't remember.
When Hitler tried to exterminate the Jews, it was Christians who came to their aid.
Um, he didn't try... he was 97% successful. And yeah the Catholic Church was right there by our side, as were all those wonderful other Christians... who couldn't wait to hand over their Jews and take their homes and property. With friends like you... who needed enemies.
Christians went to the concentration camps along side the Jews they helped.
Some did... not many.
Al, go get a copy of "The Hiding Place", by Corrie Ten Boom.
I will. You get a copy of "Exodus" by Leon Uris... or better yet The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich by Shirer and learn what they didn't teach you in Sunday school.
When Islam tried to exterminate the Jews, it was Christians who came to their aid.
And this was when? Oh, you mean the Crusades? You mean European Christendom, who had basically enslaved Jews in tiny pales and ghettos when they weren't holding pogroms... went to the Holy Land to PROTECT the Jews? I love that theory. That's better than the woman who posted earlier about the history of the founding of the US. And they say insurance agents are dull with no imagination! Not here... not you!
Christians have bled, died, and spent their fortunes in order to defend Jews.
Oh God... give me air. I fell down from laughing so hard... and I can't get up. There have been some funny things posted on this board in the past... but this takes the cake. After 2000 years of de-jure and de-facto anti-semitism and you see it as HELPING the Jews? God... I can't stop laughing. Air.. I need air!
The simple fact that someone would mention "cross burning", proves a severe lack of understanding and knowledge.
I've been to one. Until you have, please reserve your opinion of what you presume is my level of "understanding and knowledge." I've seen what rabid Christian supremacists (with the red cross on their white sheets) want to do.
Al, you obviously don't know your history, nor do you understand the Constitution.
You really believe that? OK. I learned a long time ago not to argue with idiots.... except when its fun... as it is here... with you... because you make it so easy.
Of course, you have an MA,
... and your highest level of education is what?
go figure, no wonder your so full of hate and fear.
We're back up on Planet Zardo again?
Quit putting more weight into what some lib prof. says than what the actual document says.
Did I quote a "lib prof?" What "Lib prof." did you have in mind that I might have read. (I have an MA from a rather conservative school.. William and Mary in very liberal Virginia. Hearing you, you'd think I went to NYU or Columbia!
Why don't you quit reading other fear mongers,
Who are these 'fear mongers' I'm presumed to have read?
and go meet the people you claim are so horrible.
I don't have to meet them. They are on TV every Sunday morning and the radio every Sunday evening.
Don't worry, they won't eat your children, at least not while you're looking.
You're right about that. It took us 2000 years, but I think we learned our lesson.

Why things like the federalist papers aren't required reading in our illustrious education system, I don't understand.
Re: Jew? Hindu? Muslim? You ain't an American!Go to Top
Al, you prove your lack of understanding once again.
Most Christians can't stand most TV preachers, and speak against them and the wares they peddle for pure profit.
Christians feel the same way about the KKK as you do, but you've never actually met one so you wouldn't know that.
You and the KKK have a lot in common. You all feel you are "enlightened". But the reality is you fear that which you don't know. Like I said, the simple fact you mention it proves your lack of understanding and knowledge.
You said yourself you were "taught", in "history", that seperation of church and state was in the constition, which it is not. So, obviously, your professor, who was probably just as smart as you, knows more about the document than those who wrote it?
Our fine institutions of "higher learning", are putting out boobs who can barely read with bought duhgrees, your piece of paper doesn't carry a whole lot of weight with me, nor does anyone elses'. Show me who you are, that $80,000 piece of TP doesn't mean anything.
Yes you do hate, we only hate what we fear, guess they didn't teach you that though did they. If you didn't hate, you wouldn't fear. But since you say yourselfe that you're "scared", then you show your hate.
Bigots and Racists, like you, hate because they are scared.

Why would it be so bad to have a President that had morals, and a strong standing of what is right and wrong?
You (like so many others) are mistaken regarding the separation of church and state. The provision exists to keep the government out of religion not to keep religion out of government. This country was founded by christians of many different faiths, and is based on thier ideals. How can we remove the christian ideals without destroying the very foundation of our country. Remember that it is because of religous persecution that America was founded in the first place. Also the president should never have that much power. There are checks and balances within the system that prevent what you are discussing.
As for the Japanese camps, nothing is perfect, not even the land of freedom. Every country has to learn from it's mistakes, and it was a mistake. America is a more tolerant place than it has been in the past because we have learned from our history.
It is strange that around this time of year we seem to idolize a time in our history when so many people were being repressed. My generation especially seems to look back at the 50's and 60's with a type of nostalgia that is slightly foreboding.
You say, America is a more tolerant place than it has been in the past? Thats whats going to bury this country. It's time the people wake up. Today, everyone is so willing to be checked at their local airports because suddenly their patriots but six months before 911 they all would have been screaming. Why was I checked? I don't look like a criminal etc.etc. This is the fault of the people and their liberal views. There should have been soldiers with machineguns and guard dogs long before 911 at all our airports and if it "offends" anyone DON'T FLY ! that simple. The mere thought that the terrorists were able to pull off (1) hi-jacking let alone (4) planes is a disgrace. All because if the government would have taken a hard stance in security it COULD NOT have happened, but the public outcry by the people on "violations of their rights" is why we face and will continue to face the concerns we now have. Thank the people.

Yes, your worst fears will soon be realized. We have aligned the vast numbers of bible-thumping hordes with Mr. Huckabee, Big Oil, Big Pharma, Big Nuclear and other really big Bigs to take over the world. Muahahaha!
Fair warning...we have secretly developed a mind reading/thought control machine that can penetrate your tin foil hat...and believe it or not, it can even penetrate that thick skull of yours.
Be afraid....be VERY afraid! Muahahahahahaha!!!

How do I put this nicely? You are full of crap!
The biggest effect of 911 was a loss of freedom. The Patriot Act is anything but patriotic. The bullsh*t at the airport is a total loss of our freedom. Can't take more than 3 oz. of liquid. How stupid!
Illegal wiretaps by the Bush administration. Phone companies turning over records voluntarily. Cameras on city streets (see Beverly Hills). What happened to our freedom?
The real thing to fear in this country is that "we the people" no longer exist. We are this close to a dictatorship. (And no, I'm not worried about Christians).

Patriot Act is okay for the most part, Airports, someone has to do the security, even though I would argue it isn't the place of Government to secure private business as Airports. Let the Airlines do it on their own damn dime.
No illegal Wiretapping, the NSA was developed back by the Church Commission and has been functioning the same way as it always has. It is just now with Bush in office does the liberal have something to say about it? Strange is it not?
Cameras on street corners, again not a federal action. Cameras are being placed by local governments as a way of raising funds, this started long before 9-11. You get your ticket in the mail, no need to wast the time of a police officer to pull you over!

Most Christians can't stand most TV preachers, and speak against them and the wares they peddle for pure profit.
Follow the money. Where do all those dollars come from? Think about it.
Christians feel the same way about the KKK as you do,
I agree that MOST do... but I believe there are at least 30 or 40 million (out of 300 million) that would happily send every Jew, Hindu, Mulsim, etc. to a re-education camp.... in a New York minute.
But the reality is you fear that which you don't know.
No, I fear what I DO know. And for good historical reasons.
You said yourself you were "taught", in "history", that seperation of church and state was in the constition, which it is not. So, obviously, your professor, who was probably just as smart as you, knows more about the document than those who wrote it?

Let me guess one more time. You don't HAVE a college degree. And just for reference, a degree is called a "sheepskin" not toilet paper Why? That is what they were printed on so as not to deteriorate. My degree from U.VA is on sheepskin... it has to be in an air-tight frame. I don't think colleges use sheepskin anymore. Anyone know? (I know YOU don't!)
Yes you do hate, we only hate what we fear, guess they didn't teach you that though did they. If you didn't hate, you wouldn't fear. But since you say yourselfe that you're "scared", then you show your hate.
English is your SECOND language, right? If so, it makes perfect sense. If not, I don't know what the hell you are trying to say.
Bigots and Racists, like you, hate because they are scared.

Well, I'm not like most people. I don't vote great 'national' issues or ideals or what is best for the country. I vote my own tiny, little, selfish "best" interest. I vote for the candidate whom I think will be 'best' for ME... my family... and bottom line... MY bottom line!
I thought I'd do better with Bush than I would with Gore ... and I did. So I thought Bush would be better for the economy than Kerry... but I was wrong on that. His administration (with help from the Rep. Congress) spent like a sailor. And don't get me started on the Iraq mess.
Neither choice was really appealing to me... but I voted what I thought was in my personal best interest, not that of the country or the world.
This is why I won't vote for Huckabilly. It is not in my best interest to be sent to a "re-education" camp next year. We're getting a new dog (we lost our beloved Aussie Shepherd of 14 years a few months ago) and I really want to be home to help train it. I don't think I can have a dog in Camp Huckawitz.

I hate to agree with Rick, but I have to concur.
And I've been given what he said earlier some thought. Maybe he should be allowed to ride a motorcycle without a helmut. And maybe we should not be forced to wear seat-belts. I'm not totally sold on this... but he made some sense and made me think about it.
I'd like to see a 'deal' that if you have an accident and are not wearing your helmut or seatbelt, you get a huge fine to go on top of your other bills. That would work? Rick, would you agree to that?
