Well, unemployment just hit 10% officially (yeh I know the real number is higher).

So, maybe Joe Biden can explain to us again how we needed to pass that spendulus package right here, right now or else unemployment would reach 8%. What a bargain that package was, eh?

That must mean then that we are about to do Stimulus 2. If spending one trillion gets you two per cent higher unemployment than if we did nothing then why wouldnt we want to spend another trillion to really run it into the ground?

The talking heads appropriately pointed out that the last time we saw double digits was 1983. I guess it was too much to expect that they would also mention that 1983 was the year of the first Reagan tax cuts. And then they'd have to mention how unemployment went down, GDP moved up, revenues to the Treasury increased, and all those trivial little details that are not going to happen with the Liberals in charge in 2009.
