I am just starting out in insurance. I got my Life and Disability License a few months ago and was going to work with an acquaintance selling over the phone out of my home office. Long story short he is no longer in the insurance business and I'm on my own to get going. I am licensed in my resident and 4 additional non-resident states.

I have researched quite a bit and am pretty sure I will go through Health Choice One. Is this a good option getting started?

I would like to work from home over the internet and phone. What is the best place to find decent leads?

I have a small business right now that brings in decent money but it has slowed significantly over the last year and it is in an industry that I want to get out of. I have enough income to sustain while I start up and I don't mind working hard or spending a lot of time getting over a learning curve.

Any advice on starting out on this path is greatly appreciated...

Does Health choice one just offer health?

I own a General Agency and run appointments for my agents through HealthChoiceOne for Humana. They are a great company and offer lots of webinars on the different carriers for training.

I think it's always wise to use a General Agent when you get started.

I have been toying with the idea as some recommend going to work with a captive agency to get trained... and then some say you do not need it. TheSalesWolf - you are saying, just sign up with Health Choice One and be independent from the start and you can do well correct?

I have been bouncing it around for a week which way to go. I guess there is just a bit of FEAR on your own... I can handle it, but want to make sure it is the best route.
