Well....again, they do have a good staff, but I guess I tend to look at numbers very closely because of the Fantasy leagues that I play in.

For example, Sonnanstine has been very hittable this year (ERA over five) and he does not have overpowering stuff. He has had a few very good starts this year, but his QS ratio is not good. Last year, he was quite hittable as well.

Garza has been pitching pretty well lately with three straight quality starts. But can he continue? Maybe.

True, very true.

I actually think the key will be Edwin Jackson. He looks like he's finally coming of age. Filthy stuff - when on damn near unhittable. When you see guys walking away from the plate shaking their heads...

You're saying there are OTHER teams??? Oh, and who are these Yankees you're referring to? Have they done anything this decade, otherwise I tend to lose track...

The BoSox 5 starters aren't even close to the Rays as a group! Especially with Bucholz now on the DL, and Schilling gone.

Tim Wakefield?

The Rays current rotation of Shields, Kazmir, Garza, Sonnanstine and Jackson is top to bottom the best in the AL, if not all of baseball.

Care to place a wager Senor? I'll offer that BoSox finish first in AL East and Tampa will be 3rd or lower. If so, you owe me $50. If BoSox are not first, or if Tampa is second or higher I owe you $50. Deal?

Oh, and trust me nothing would please me more than if the DR's finished ahead of the Spankees but I just don't think it will shake out that way...maybe next year.

I have given your name to the FBI who will shortly be knocking on your door. Gambling is illegal unless you are in a licensed casino and paying taxes on the profit.

Umm, anyone paid any attention to what the cleveland indians staff has been doing lately? Pretty impressive stuff, and I am in no way ana indians fan.

I picked up Cliff Lee (in a Fantasy league) earlier this year. I really only wanted him for a start or two. Who would have forecasted those numbers?

Yes, ERA too high, but I think you and I both were too hard on him...

After last night, (he was also 2 for 3 at the plate), he's 6-1, tied for the AL lead in wins. 11-3 in his last 18 starts...

Sonnanstine, Rays take down Cardinals 3-1 - St. Petersburg Times

Break up the Rays?

That was an impressive start for him. But he pissed off the Cardinal hitters so much that they took it out on Garza today.

Had to post before they play agian.

Don't look now but the suckos(pirates) are a .500. This is like price conditioning with the gas companies. I am supposed to feel happy that a professional baseball team can make it to .500. What a joke! Just like saying " I wish the gas prices were $2.99 again" I wish the rays well, it could make for an interesting playoff race. Chumps, well I guess we will see today at 3:00 pm est about those pesky flyers, lol.

Hopefully, the Flyers can score the first goal and keep it close through two. If they do...anything could happen.

The team takes the dumb penalties will probably lose.

You know what's annoying? When people change the thread with superfluous posts.

Some decent answers, sure but actually:

1.) jackass replies to any post of mine
2.) anything I don't like
3.) 9/11 conspiracy theorists (just because I'm on that kick now)
