Kennedy Dead. Sad Day for Me. Probably Not You.Go to Top
One of the great men of my generation passed away this evening. Like all great men he had great flaws. I didn't agree with him on everything but I valued his service to "my" cause.
I'm sure this passing will be of great joy to you neo-cons in this venue who have poured out your hatred of Kennedy, Frank, Obama, and other liberals seeking reform.
Indeed, without the voice (and vote) of Kennedy, you will probably now be able to (again) defeat healthcare reform and see your greed and avarice triumph over those who seek a more just, and more humane society.
I've lived through the deaths of JFK (1963), RFK (1968), MLK (1968) and now Ted Kennedy.
A sad day for me... a happy one for so many of you here, I'm sure.

Even in your period of mourning someone you admire, you feel obligated to do it with hate and venom.
Al you really need to look within yourself to get rid of your hate and negative feelings.
I didn't agree with much of anything that Ted Kennedy ever did politically but I can admire that he was a man who stood for what he believed in. He didn't just sit around and belly-ache. He tried to do something that he believed would help. That's admirable.
He was also one of the greatest public speakers I know of.
He had huge flaws but what great man doesn't.

Do all "great men" let a girl drown in a lake then wait an entire day to report it while they get their stories lined up?
If anyone wants to read up on this coward it's here:
"Under Massachusetts law Boyle, having found "probable cause" that Kennedy had committed a crime, could have issued a warrant for his arrest, but he did not do so.[31] District Attorney Dinis chose not to pursue Kennedy for manslaughter, despite Judge Boyle's conclusions."

The Chappaquiddick incident would have put anyone but a Kennedy in jail.

Agreed. In today's society with the internets Kennedy would likely be doing 15 to life for manslaughter. At best, he would have been forced to step down.
He was "too distraught" to seek help.....OR he was savvy enough to know that he was drunk as batshit and if he called the cops it would have been over for him? No one will know.
Question: When someone you care about is at the bottom of a lake you:
A) Can't get help fast enough
B) Leave the scene and go home
Obviously in Al's eyes Kennedy gets a complete pass for this incident. I wonder if he'd get a pass if he were, say a Republican neo-con?

Not only did Kennedy want congress to sidestep the law he made in appointing someone, but he was unfit to serve in congress Legally. He was knighted by the queen, and under the constitution that is illegal. I could care less about him really, he is but one of the elitists that needed to be excised from our sovereign country.
As a side note, stop being such a victim Al...Issues buddy, Issues...

What he did was beyond despicable and he should have been shunned forever, in prison. As a Catholic, though, he will be ultimately judged, and based on Catholic theology, he's going to hell. Hope he's having fun there!

Big, big, big mistake for Hillary to let Obama appoint her and assign her to the backwaters of diplomacy. She is becoming a virtual unknown and the entire health care thing which she wanted to be her legacy is happening without her.
She could have stayed in the Senate and over time, with the passing of people especially Kennedy, she could have been the Grand Dame and heart and soul of the Dem Party just as Teddy did even though he lost his presidential bids.
I dont know where she is now in the political landscape. Totally lost I think. Maybe hoping Joe Biden continues to go brain dead and steps down at the end of the first term and she becomes VP if Obama is re-elected. Don't know. Big, big mistake on her part. The talks about who will fill Kennedy's shoes will not even include honorable mention for her now. Man, that was a dumb ass move on her part.

I suppose it is unheard of for a cabinet member to run for president in the second term of his/her office.
Hypothetically if it happened, do you think she would have any chance of beating Obama for the Dem nomination. It sure would make things interesting if she did run.

I find it amusing that anyone is attempting to stand up for someone whose family CONSCIOUSLY made the decision to exploit minorities under the guise of "public service."
Don't believe me? Do some research on the patriarch of the family, Joseph. He taught his boys that exploiting the poor and minorities (due to their larger numbers) would lead to political opportunities to make money in a way that was easier than earning it through good business opportunities and investments, known as "hard work."
The family is filled with scumbags, and they deserve each and every bad incident that happens to them. Karma is a bitch.
