For my dedicated business phone, ideally, it would be nice to have a cell phone that the voicemail message changed automatically based on what time of the day it is...if it is 7 am, the answering message would explain what my business hours are and to leave a message, etc or we are closed for the holidays (X-Mas) ... I don't see this being possible with cell phones unless there is some technology I am unaware of.

So those of you with home offices...do you use a landline connected to your computer to manage your voicemails and business hour messages etc?

Trying to understand how this should be set up.

If you're a small one man business, what is so hard about having your landline number forward to your cell phone when you are out and use the voicemail on the cell phone? You always have it with you and you always answer it or check your messages as soon as you get done on your appointment.

I use RingCentral. You can customize hours, what phones to ring based on time, etc...

I make outgoing calls w/Google Voice (free outgoing cals), but all incoming calls are routed with RingCentral
