OK I was just confused with the lead company's endorsement from your association, because historically you have bashed lead companies that have also been agencies, and now you are endorsing one... thats all. Thanks
I personally, am not an internet lead fan. But I have to be more detached when I'm running this association and realize that a lot of agents love internet leads and have high success.
For me, I'm now just an information provider:
Lead source A works like this
Lead source B works like this
Lead source C works like this
Now - you choose. We will not endorse any source that we have not used. So we call lead companies, buy their leads and ascertain results. If decent, we ask for a member discount. All have said yes and we're average $1 lead discount. The lead companies are quite happy since they're getting a lot of new business from our members.
That's significant. If you're gonna use "ABC Leads" for $8 - come join our association and get 'em for $7 a lead. 30 leads a week - $1 off = $120 savings a month - dues are $20/mo so you're ahead $100.
As membership grows (steadily every day) we'll be working on more and better discounts.

I can tell you that so far the only two Leadbot leads (out of 14) that were interested in health insurance were two that i had already received from shared leads. I have about 10 more leads left on my "order" and don't plan on placing another one. The best way to describe the prospects I have been able to get a hold of - Vimo Live. I have a 50 mile radius and the leads have all been from areas where the home values are well below the median for the area. A couple cut me off saying they were looking for life insurance and didnt give me a chance to say i could help with that, one was a 14 yo whose mom had mentioned that she didnt have dental at work . . .
Melmunch, would you recommend converting the rest of my credits to life leads?
I thought I would add my own results, using their, "exclusive health leads." I Started April 7th and as of April 30th, I had received a whopping (7) leads. (this is Statewide) One was a life lead, and of the remaining six (6) I received, three (3) were returns. A 50% return rate.
Calling leadbot health leads is almost like cold calling. They may be exclusive, but I think you could pick 50 names out of the phone book and have the same placement ratio, maybe higher. Their life leads are better, or were when I used them over a year ago. Has anything changed with them?
Been using exclusive leads for $17.95 - doing fantastic with them. Not Leadbot.
What are you using for Life leads? If you do use life leads. I live in Miami Fl. So im not steeling any of your business.
I just wanted to know witch company is the best.

I guess the acronymn "YMMV" applies here. (Your mileage may vary). Different states, different variables galore. I think the reality is internet leads suck. Yes, you can find some to convert into sales, but like Frank Stasny says you can't really sub for old fashioned prospecting. Agents would rather buy a lead than do it. YMMV (Not to mention not surprised you didn't get an answer.) Unless you've posted here for 14 years, or are a 25 y/o nubile female you might as well google.

Whoops, I didn't see the second page of this thread ... sorry to brake the flow ... but, yeah, my experience with internet leads is ... well, it wasn't so bad now that I think about it ... but I wouldn't recommend them over traditional lead sources ... however, I would trust John if he recommended a source ...

We work up member discounts - for example Norvax is giving members $50 off per month on broker office and money off the set up fee. What do we get in return? "thanks" - but no money. In return Novax will give us some press to help boost membership.
Same with referring member's to an agency. They get top contracts - don't have to fight and claw and hear "well...you're new so....." - we get a nod back. From where I stand, everyone wins.
When anyone or any product we recommend tanks, we simply yank our endorsement of it.
I'm a chamber of commerce member and in return for paying dues I get a lot of discounts - the chamber simply recommends certain services that have been proven to be effective. There's no conflict for me to join the chamber, pay them money, and they recommend sources I get discounts on.
IHIAA is a credible source regardless whether they make money on their endorsements or not. IHIAA thrives on good information and direction ... if that is compromised, IHIAA will quickly go out of business.

Is Norvax looking to take over the world? I understand they have bought, or are hoping to buy, tele-agent shops.
I met with some Norvax guys last last week, if they're going to take over the world they'll need a more impressive building. It was nice, just too short to peer over the city with when watching your minions.
From what I understand they make most of their money selling leads to tele-agent shops; so that would be a strange turn of events.
Wouldn't be the first time that happened. Vimo sold leads and also had an agency that got "first dibs" on leads before they went to agents. The lead came to Vimo, an outbound call was made, if someone answered and wanted to talk to an agent the lead was transferred. If not, it went back in the hopper as a "hot" lead and sold to agents.
Is vimo still both a lead company and agency? While researching PPC ads, I found VIMO to have the most deceptive ads that are probably illegal when it comes to insurance advertising laws.
