The Yes Men, a left-leaning activist group that often impersonates officials from organizations they oppose, took responsibility for the hoax.
Andy Bichlbaum—an alias the activist uses for Yes Men demonstrations—told POLITICO that his group is targeting the Chamber for what he considers “retrograde” positions on climate change.
“Clearly, there is a question of who is hoaxing who,” Bichlbaum said. “I think the Chamber is hoaxing the American public at this point.”
Anybody remember the last time a "right leaning activist group" pretended to be someone they weren't?
In fact does anyone remember the last time the media used "right leaning" to describe anyone?
Does anyone remember the last the the media use "left wing extremists" to describe anyone?

I've noticed that the media will jump on a story immediately and without research if it is anti-Right (the Bush National Guard letter) and will not report or they research to death a story that is anti-Left (Acorn).
You could literally come up with a thousand examples of this.

McCains alleged affair with the lobbyist as reported by New York Times being an prime example, along with the non-reporting of John Edwards whoring around.

Why do you neos care about the so-called "liberal" media? I thought you guys only watch Fox Noise? And since Rush and Glen are the intellectual spokespersons of the Republican Party, why do you even need anyone else to get your message out?
You guys simply don't understand WHY so many broadcast media people are in the middle or liberal-left. We mod/libs do, and we work to use it to our advantage. You guys will never get it... and I'm not telling. The answer is rather simple, but it escapes all conservative PR organizations.
William Buckley understood it, but I think he took the secret to his grave.
You might ask David Brooks, but I doubt he will tell you. Look where has has gotten with "the knowledge"... from an unknown police reporter in Chicago to an unknown writer of The (unknown) Weekly Standard (later editor) to the NYT and PBS. He gets it, and he's not about to tell anyone else... and neither would you if you were in the media.
Neo-cons will never get it. They simply never will.

On not paying attention to other media, apparently you are wrong.
As to listening to folks other than Rush and Glen, that is something conservatives do all the time. It's the liberals who don't listen to Rush and Glen, and then claim they said things that they didn't say, which is an ongoing problem.

Oh, wow. The full video, well, I don't know how it could get more bizarre than this...but it REALLY makes one wonder why a news organization would report it:

Huh? How could we know that Rush is such a racist asshole if we didn't listen to him? Obviously we listen to him... same with Beck. They are very entertaining.
Also, how would we ever know what the movers and shakers in the opposition party are talking about or thinking without listening to Rush or Glen? Are they not the spokespeople of the GOP? If not, tell me who is... and I'll listen to them.
Of course we don't have to listen to Rush and Glen for too long. Let's face it, conservatives have not said anything new since Goldwater in 1964. It's the same old greed, avarice, xenophobic and homophobic litany we've heard for the past half century... cut the size of government, cut taxes, get rid of all (unconstitutional) social legislation (i.e. integration, public accommodations) and let's increase the size of the military, end abortion, and bring back J. Edgar Hoover. Year after year after year.
If you understand the word "No" then you understand the platform of Conservatives... because they are not FOR anything but simply AGAINST everything.
Actually, I misspeak. There is one new item we've seen from them in the past few years: The advocacy of a Christian theocracy. So exactly where in Kentucky shall we build Camp Huckawitz and Fort Palin?
Conservatism is all darkness, all gloom, all doom. We're all going to hell, civilization as we know it is soon to end, and if we just go back to the days of horses and buggies, all our problems will be fixed.
If the message was so compelling, it seems to me we would be saluting President Huckabee.
Didn't happen... not going to happen... conservatives are destined to remain on the trash-heap of history... because no matter how good they make it sound no one really wants to go back to Alabama of 1958 and no one really believed that June and Ward Cleaver were really all that happy.
The picture of Bichlbaum lines up with the dude who opened the press conference. As a point of clarification, the press conference wasn't fraudulent, in that the press in the room were the real press. The frauds were the people pretending to be with the Chamber of Commerce who opened the meeting.
This was an interesting bit:
In an interview with Bill Moyers on PBS in 2007, Bichlbaum said that he sees their tactics as a “collaboration with journalists.”
“A lot of the issues that we address journalists want to cover. But…in many situations, editorial control won’t let them unless there’s a good little hook behind it. And so, we’ve found a way to create funny spectacles that give journalists the excuse to cover [certain] issues.”
Reminds me of Anita Dunn which I discuss at this thread:
A former Maxis employee, he was fired after secretly adding code into the game SimCopter that would cause sprites of males in swimming trunks kissing each other to appear on certain dates. This was not discovered until after the game had been published.

Thanks for proving my point.

It's VERY obvious that you don't. IF it were treated as a course in college, what kind of grade would you get? Based on what you have written - F.
