In Georgia, do you need to have an appointment with a carrier before you apply for an agency license?

I am currently employed with a captive agency, where I have a couple of appointments with outside companies, but I do not know if they will be dropped once I leave?

I called the GA insurance commissioners office, but the representative wasn't very informative or very friendly.

Yes, And The Required Forms Filed With The State.

You do not need an agency license unless your commission are payable to the agency, and/or you are operating under a DBA or fictitious name.
