Hi guys,
I'm waiting to receive my life and health licenses which is taking ages as I have already passed my exams. I should have them soon. I got a question for you, I don't know if you could answer this. I have passed the Illinois life and health exams, let's say if I'm to move to Florida permanently, would I have to go through the process again to get licensed in that state or is it a shorter process. Thanks so much and take care.
In most state all you would need to do is transfer your license to the state your moving to.. Consider getting a nonresident license first and then once your move is complete then transfer. Of course you should check with the respective states to decide which is the best way to go.
You can check the Florida insurance department web site for the process to transfer your license.
It looks like there's a one year wait for Florida to transfer without a prelicensing course requirement. Also it look like there is a testing requirement unless the agent has a CLU..
Illinois is the worst place to get your paper license. I would drive to Springfield to get it. The other part of your question is easy to answer. If you have a valid Il. resident license you can get a non-resident Fl license (beware, it will take some doing and costs, its not instant like most other states) if you move to Florida you can convert your license to a resident license easily.
