AIG "AGLA" Universal Life? Any good?

Thanks! That's definitely a different version, from the same carrier, but for the different (AGLA) channel. The product we sell is called CancerCare, for the AG channel. The good news is that your 65% commission on that product is great!

Product is priced reasonably.. Same carrier? While both AG and AGLA ae owned by AIG, they are separate companies.

Now, they are the same carrier.. As of 12.31.2012, they were both merged into AIG Life and Retirement but for some reason they are still offering different product versions.. It is a very confused situation.

AGLA is "Changing the way Americans think about, purchase and use of life insurance". It's because we are the first in the market that offers life insurance that has accelerated benefit rider (ABR) when or if you get CRITICALLY, CHRONICALLY or TERMINALLY ILL(24months).

And you have been with AGLA how long? 3 days or 4? AGLA was not the first with critical/chronic illness ABRs in the US.. They are not even the only company with no cost ABRs as some of their management like to tell new agents. Good product but the JIm Mallon/Scott German hype just isn't true. In fact, I have never heard either of them personally make those claims even though lower management credits them for it.

The phrase AGLA is "Changing the way Americans think about, purchase and use of life insurance" has a nice ring to it, but AGLA is not really that influential in the marketplace.

I enjoyed presenting the product but finally got fed up with their 20 page application and the fact you have to collect a spit stick from every non medical applicant no matter how small the face amount. .

It does have a nice ring to it plus you can be very convincing if you don't know any better.

Everyone keeps mentioning AIG in reference to the Quality of Life Insurance line of products. This is not a line sold by AIG it is a line sold by American General Life and Accident (Nashville), AIG is merely a holding company collecting dividens from AGLA. The product was developed by the CEO of AGLA Jim Mallon. Most companies do offer ABR on Terminal Illness, but AGLA is the only company offering ABR's on Critical Illness, Chronic Illness, and Terminal Illness. As mentioned this is a good blanket of protection to have incase you did not want to dip into savings or had no savings in the event of a serious medical condition.

There are a few companies offering those ABRs. AGLA does not have the racket on them as many AGLA agents are being told. The qualifications, percentages paid out, etc. do vary from company to company.

I believe Mallon came over from LSW, and brought the living benefit riders idea with him,
LSW has been offering these riders for quite some time and I love their claims department, very fair IMO.

What crap....I hope you provide more factual information to your clients. AGLA is not the first with ABR riders suchs as these.
