How Can I Find Policy Details with Just the Policy Number?

I am a relatively new agent. I ran into some people who are struggling financially but have a few whole life policies with Bankers Conseco and John Hancock. They gave me the policy numbers and I wanted to know if there is anything I can do to get an inforce illustration with just the policy number. I can get them to call the companies with me, I would just prefer to get the information before meeting with them if at all possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you want it beforehand, do a three way call, get them to give permission to send the inforce illustration.
