How Life Insurance Company Communicates Declines

I am just interested into find out how other life insurance companies communicate declines. One of the reason why I left the captive world at NYL was that when they would decline, they would mail the decision to client, refund the premium paid and then send an electronic message to agent, sometimes with a 1 day delay. There was no chance for the agent to ask any questions and sometimes the client found out before the agent. I have seen ONL decline and they either email or call the agent first. There is a chance for me to research other companies first and then call the client. The difference is almost day and night. Pru emails the agent first too. I had few declines with FE companies but they told me right over the phone.

I'd say most comapnies would email you but at same time the declination letter would be printed and mailed in same day.

If you're independent and represent several comapnies, you can shop out the Health profile (labs and medical records) to other companies.

Hopefully another carrier might make an offer

But being captive you don't have that opportunity unfortunately
