Life Agent Partnering with P&C Agency

Here is how our agency is thinking to structure the deal:

The life agent gets full access to our 3 offices, full support staff and our book of business. He/She would get full commission from whatever life clients they brings in and 50% for whatever he gets from our book. They would also refer any P&C clients to us exclusively.

Partnerships are hard, it is hard to find people that you can trust and have no problem opening your books up to. I have a financial specialist that wants me to partner with him and basically it is presented as a win win. I just have a hard time trusting someone this much. I actually have considered hiring my own producer to arrange the appointments and work the split with him that way. This way I have complete control of my clients.

I do work with a LTC guy like this...send him a few...he sends me a few...to be honest I don't put that much effort into it and I don't think he does either.

Why not contract him under you with the companies that you are with.....then he gets his commission on what he sells and you get what you sell....for instance, I sure you understand that if you are getting 120% then you can set him up for 20% or so......
