Unfortunately true. However, it is still not the role of government to legislate morality, even when that comes to marketplace conduct. But our country let that genie out of the bottle decades ago.

I will leave the discussion for how much regulation is required for another day. That is a different issue. My point is, it will happen. Any executive who believes other wise and attended B-school needs to ask for a refund as history has made it abundantly clear that it will happen.

I do believe a certain amount of regulation is necessary. The question is how much.
