Switching from Term Life to Whole Life?

If converting isn't an option I'd seek out an agency who ONLY works with people with Diabetes. Calling someone a diabetic is outdated

Work with a specialist not a generalist

Well I am curious Matt, what do you call a diabetic?

And honestly now, it doesn't matter what you call them, it's how the underwriter sees them. no?

Hmm, for me at least, most if not all of my cases that have to do with diabetes usually end up with at least 1 or 2 phone calls to an underwriter for assessment.

Seems like they're the "be all end all."

Didn't know there were specialists. Learned something new.

Term will be the cheapest just about everywhere you look. If he does whole/cash value life, he'll be paying for and "insurance" and an "investment." If he dies before age 100, the investment (which gets a return barely above inflation rate) goes back to the company.

I am an independent agent and specialize in working with diabetics and those with pre-existing medical conditions. I would suggest trying to get underwritten to see what is available. I would need to know more about the situation to determine the appropriate type policy. Is this needed for short term or for final expenses, etc. Thanks.

Your other post was funny. This one is dangerous. If someone takes it seriously, that is.

It's clear you are not apart of the Diabetes community. For about two years now the the community is trying to get away from the term "diabetic"

They prefer people or person with Diabetes.

;) I've been a type II for 17 years Matt. This is the first I have heard of what we like to be called. Personally, I always thought we liked to be called "not dead". But that's just me.

No worries. I guess some diabetics prefer being called a person with diabetes.

Sounds like more PC BS to me. The minority rules.:skeptical:

Matt wasn't serious was he? :err:
