I am working on a conversion for a client. While the conversion is medically guaranteed the questions that need to be answered are related to tobacco, avocation and travel.
In my conversation with the underwriter I learned learned that they are about to start postponing all policies until 21 days after return from certain African countries.
I my case it is a conversion and I was prepared to argue the case. However, we remedied it by dating it current. But she is going to have to check on how that will affect guaranteed conversions.
It does not affect my client since they are traveling in Asia. However, I can see where this could spread to other countries and affect the Life Insurance industry.
