Yes, although a lot will depend on when diagnosed, amount of insulin, level of control and if there are any other health conditions.
UHL (United Home Life) has some simplified term products that work well for this. I am sure there are others.
Yes, there are quite a few carriers that will insurance a person with type 1 diabetes. When you contact the carrier to ask, tell them:
1) A1C (current and recent patterns),
2) how many units of insulin (and delivery method, i.e. pump, pen, injections),
3) whether there are any complications (neuropathy, CAD, kidney disease, etc), and
4) when diagnosed.
