Well, in a roundabout way this follows on to the John McCain discussion where it is always implied out that McCain is beyond criticism because he is a war hero. Others argue that you still have to look at his policies, views, and beliefs. It is not enough to just claim military honor.

To that point, Jack Murtha is equally a highly decorated, wounded, and honored retired Marine Corp Colonel. He is also a pinko liberal, in favor of surrender, and a pork barrel spender. No one likes criticizing a war hero but when folks want to run the country or are already running parts of it then you have to look at the whole picture.

For today, I am on McCains side though. I dont automatically defend him because I am not one of his supporters but nevertheless it is the New York Time's job to show the "facts", not his.

Some wise ass on Fox News said that maybe Mike Nifong could get a job at the New York Times. Gotta love it.

I think Mike Nifong would have no problem being a garbage collector. He's well suited for the job, and he'll still make $100,000+ per year!

I still wonder why so much animosity is driven toward whoever sits in the Oval Office. It's Congress Americans should direct their anger towards. They hold the purse strings, they spend the money. And they've done a lousy job too.

Have we forgotten that Murtha is also as crooked as they come?

How about the sting that "almost" got him where he was videotaped by the FBI saying he wasn't interested in the bribe offered "at the present" but pretty much said he would be interested if there was more money on the table. He was an unindicted co-conspirator in this deal and quickly ratted-out his fellow politicians who ended up actually going to prison.
