Does anyone know of a carrier that will write group LTC for a company of 75 employees in Washington DC? Company was with Unum but moved from VA to DC and Unum is using that as an excuse to terminate the plan.

they could get a "simplified issue" multi-life policy, with LifeSecure.

MedAmerica is approved in D.C. They offer a group/association program with a 5% discount. However, all approvals are at a standard rate. Full underwriting but less questions on the group app than an individual app.

For individual apps, one could qualify at a preferred health rate with a 10% discount (no group discount)

Both FlexCare & FlexCash are available. UNUM offered a cash-benefit policy and a reimbursement policy. You didn't mention which product this group has. FlexCash is pretty much the same as UNUM's cash-benefit policy (Total Home Care)

But with any carrier, this would be considered replacement business, with no first year commission, only the renewal amount paid. At least that's how replacements are handled in NY. It may be different in other states.

New applicants will have to deal with a new product, priced at attained age and have to qualify medically.

If the existing UNUM group has been in exisitence for a while, most applicants will be dealing with sticker-shock based on today's pricing, especially FlexCash.

Won't UNUM allow the group polcyholders to maintain their coverage under direct individual billing?
