****Those Were The Days****

I was speaking with a policyholder today who purchased a Travelers policy from me in 1997 when he was 63 years old.
His benefits are presently:
$438/day for nursing home
$219/day for home care & assisted living
20-day elimination period
5% Compound
Lifetime Benefit Period

Including an 8% rate increase in 2006, he's paying
(ready for this?)......................................

$1,570/year

Those were the days.

Why did you hose him on the 50% home care and assisted living, Arthur?

Because at the time I told him if he ever needed home care, Travelers would pay a part and if there was a shortage of benefits, I would come over to his house and care for him the balance of the day.

He seemed to like that idea..............
