Traditional LTC Vs Moneyguard for Client W/ Health Impairment

I have a client that is interested in obtaining some type of LTCi. She has a condition that might affect her insurability, but we have run pre screens with all of the major traditional LTC carriers, Lincoln Moneyguard and State Life. Lincoln and State life said OK to submit. Traditional carriers all said they would consider Select class after reviewing records.

I really just want to submit apps and get an offer on her, but I guess my question is - would you hesitate to submit on traditional LTC in fear that she may get a decline, which would then eliminate her chances of getting a Hybrid policy? Am I over thinking this?

She is leaning towards traditional LTC, which is why I would want to submit first on that to see if we can even get her the offer we're looking for.

TIA

LTC underwriting is harder than ever. I would consider working with a LTC specialist who talks to the underwriters on a regular basis. Who has experience in seeing cases go through or not.

There is a lot to pre-qualification, depending on the case.

If you state what her medical condition is, the various LTCI experts can give you an idea of her chances of being approved.

Seems like you are going to be OK whichever direction you take your client. I write a lot of traditional LTC and asset based policies so I am highly familiar with the underwriting landscape. If you wish to discuss her health history with me you may reach me on my cell phone (770) 823-0809 this weekend.

By the way, for female applicants Mass Mutual will be the underwriter you may want to take your client to first and foremost if she wants a traditional policy due to Mass Mutual's premium stability track record and unisex LTC rates. So Mass will be the UW you really want to prequalify her with.

I often submit 2-3 applications at once if I have a reason to be concerned just to obtain all answers simultaneously for my client within 6 weeks.

Let me know if I can guide you.
