I have a plan for 2 people with Blue Cross in an HSA. Any companies that might be better and a little cheaper? I do not sell health but it is my plan so I might as well make something on it.

I am looking for something that might cover 5 year colonoscopies so that are not 100% out of pocket with $2500 deductible. Some drug coverage too. Thanks.

Depends where you are located. Medical Mutual is a viable option...if you are in Ohio.

Florida. It is for me and a worker. Looking for an option. -I have BCBS and was wondering if Assurant or John Alden or any others might be better. Any firms with good prices and good service or better deals than BCBS. HSA, HMO or PPO. I have HSA now.

Thanks.

Thanks for your help. It is not my area of expertise but it appears I know more than my BCBS rep.

Best HSA plan I've seen is with Assurant. Lots of great riders that can reduce the cost of out of pocket. That and the decreasing deductible is always a plus. Assurant has my vote if you plan on selling HSA.

Freddy, BCBSFL just rolled out new HSA's a few weeks ago which now have many upgraded benefits such as unlimited preventive services in network. You are allowed to make one plan change every calander year also. I am not that familiar with Assurant HSA's but I know that their standard individual co-pay type plans are weak and over priced as I have switched many people off of them over the years.

Can't argue with you on that. Their standard plans are not so great. They do have a few things about their standard plans that I like, such as a long term lock and you can adjust the premium to any where you would like. However, I do agree that their standard plan can use a few more options.

That being said, their HSA rocks! (Opinion of course, but if you look at it, you might agree.)

That's the funniest thing I have seen on this forum in a long time. Thanks for the laugh.

If you are going to load up an already expensive product (most parts of the country) with a bunch of riders you might as well sell them a copay plan.

The decreasing deductible is a gimmick carriers have used for years to compensate for a pricey product.

"Mr. & Mrs. Prospect, as long as you don't mind paying 30% more today than any other carrier charges, in just a few years this plan will practically pay for itself."

I suggest you run the quote yourself for your area. As opposed to going with a company that works well in their area, go with one that works well in yours. I don't want to get into yelling contest with some people when they are wrong, it just doesn't do any good. In my area, Assurant is very competitively priced, and beats Humana, and CIGNA.

Re: Looking to Replace BCBS HSA             Go to Top

Just spent a lot of time looking for health insurance for myself. I am not a health agent but I have worked in property and casualty insurance for 40 years and have spent a lot of time marketing property and casualty insurance. I live in Georgia and certain insurance companies write in certain states. Received my notice form Blue Cross, Blue Shield and it was up almost $100 a year. Don't have any major medical problems except for getting up in age and not old enough for medicare.
Go on line and fill out applications for health insurance available in your state. My agent told me I could go research as well and he could and I did.
In the end I found lower rates and better coverage for about the same as my expiring premium with Blue Cross.
Good luck.

Sounds like a very lazy agent.

Tell me again, why do you need him?

With some real guidance you probably could have done even better than you did.

Hello,
I'd recommend you take a look at Cigna. There rates are awsome and the company has a long history of service.

Cigna's rates in Georgia are decent but their underwriting is atrocious. A squeaky clean risk takes 3 weeks to underwrite.
