He will now be 2" shorter, a permanent modification induced by the ejection process. Something to remember the flight by.

I'd hate to be the pilot that took him up.

I don't think he will forget that one. I wonder who had to wash out his flight suit

I call BS. I was on an aircraft carrier and while all aircraft are different one thing I asked several pilots when doing electrical work in their stateroom was about the "eject" feature.
It don't happen by accident. It takes monumental effort to make it deploy and the levers or handles (depending on the aircraft) are not in an area that the hands would "naturally" find them.

I don't disagree. There are two alternative mechanism in U.S. aircraft, the lever between your legs, or the chords about your head - correct?

But I have no idea what the Europeon jets use. Knowing them, they like to make it easier to surrender.
