Mass Mutual Just Downgraded by S&P?!

Should any clients or agents be concerned that Mass Mutual, a major mutual, is no longer a triple A (AAA) company any longer?

Not so much. Sliding from the top ratings tiers down a notch or two is far less dramatic than being mid level and sliding down.

I'd be more concerned if they got downgraded again a year from now. I would be suprised if one or several of the other major mutuals didn't get downgraded in the next year or so.

OP is right. Why would anyone want to do business with an AA+ rated company?

Not a big deal, but I do have a friend who works at Mother Mass whose face I'm going to rub in this.
