Hey everyone -- I used to post on here all the time but now I have moved and thought I would give it a shot again.. but as something a bit different.

Question is -- what do you do for your clients? How many referrals do you get from one client? How would you like to be on their mind every month -- In a good way??????

This is something that I do for realtors and I am looking into doing it for fellow insurance agents as well -- in other states.. please let me know what you think and what you would do and would it be worth it to you?

Obviously I would not be marketing to your clients as an insurance agent -- we can put your information in the pail -- but from reading this below -- you get the picture..
This would be for mortgage protection leads




My company overwraps candy bars with customized wrappers pertaining to the business -- Have you seen the new baby hershey bars saying -- heresheis or hereheis --- With this concept and with selling insurance also -- I have combined the two -- so not only am I making money by marketing the pails -- I will also make commissions on the sales generated from my own gift certificate in the pail -- these pails are given directly to the new homeowner at the closing table -- I will also be sending them a mailer every month and for birthdays.. This will generate a list very quickly that will hopefully generate more sales at a later date with other insurance products. -- Later in the week I will be posting a picture so you can see the idea.
My father-in-law and I are doing this fulltime with myself selling final expense fulltime -- needless to say I am tired. But I see this as a great avenue for mortgage protection insurance -- a gift certificate for the homeowner along with the others offering as Mark Rosenthal advised -- a free living will etc etc.

Just from reading this please tell me what you guys think of it.. I charge $100 per client one time only.
Basically it is a gallon sized paint pail -- it is clear ( no its not a used pail! ) you could probably check out others at [COLOR=#0000ff]www.wrapcandy.com[/COLOR] for an idea..

This pail wrapped in cellophane and tied with colorful ribbon -- it looks beautiful.

Gift Pail with Goodies for a local Realtor or insurance agent in town includes the following:

4.5 ounce Hershey bar
4 specialty tea bags
4 packets of Swiss Miss hot chocolate
4 chocolate covered graham crackers
4 snack size Orville R. popcorn
4 Hershey snack bars
4 granola bars
4 Hershey mini’s
4 German chocolate mini’s
4 mint books
1 sheet of address labels with your logo
1 address book or to do list magnetized for fridge
1 Congrads. Card from You
1 packet of gift certificates for new homeowner valued at over $200 ( see below )


The pail will also have a picture of the new home and it will be personalized with the names of the new homeowners. All of the goodies inside will be overwrapped with your logo.

We will also have a monthly goodie packet going to your clients on the 1st of every month – this will include % -off coupons that will encourage your client to re-use the same establishments that were initially in the pail as gift certificates. Every packet will include a personalized letter of thanks and introduction from the Realtor and Creative Specialites of Canton, Ohio. You will be able to add a personalized touch to these mailers if you choose.

A monthly drawing will occur on the 15th of every month for dinner for two and a movie. There will be additional drawings for various gift certificates and tickets through-out the year for your clients.

Also included is a 4.5 ounce customized Hershey Bar with card on the client’s Birthday

The Gift Certificates will include some of the following from local establishments in your hometown area in a red envelope:

Beauty or Barber shop hair cut
Tanning booth – free tan
Game of Put-Put golf
Game of Bowling
Nail salon – manicure
Nursery – plant or flower
Dry cleaner -- $15 of dry cleaning
Car wash – free car wash
Dog groomer – 1 free wash or groom
Carpet Cleaning – 1 room cleaned
Donut shop – one free donut
Oil change shops – free oil change
Red box free rental codes
Ice cream shop – free cone
Restaurants – free entrees, breakfast, lunch, dinners

It is working out really well for everyone involved.

I wanted to ask everyone if they would be interested in something like this -- I am wondering if this is the right forum to be posting this on? If it should be on general agents discussions or something?

At a smaller cost -- at $15 a pail ( a quart sized pail with goodies ) and the $250 in gift certificates for the new homeowner and mailouts thru-out the year at $30 -- so $45 for everything -- you can sign up for $15 for the pail and when you mortgage protection sale closes you can pay the other $30 for the clients year membership.

So basically if you sign up I can put you with realtors in your local area to give out the pails at closing with either your information listed or the realtors ( on the pail ) --- so you can be first for the mortgage protection lead and make the sale.

Or we could do the gallon sized pail at $30 -- your choice..

The idea seems good but can get costly. Also the mortgage market is in the tank right now so it might be better if it is targeted to another audience; still is not a bad idea though.

You know, sometimes I really hate this forum because all I seem to hear is negative crapola coming from "sales professionals". Is this where you feel you can all "vent" because, God forbid should you talk like this in front of your clients and/or sales agents! Why is it that negativity breeds negativity...like a cancer? I agree...some people on this forum need to "get a life"!!

But seriously if you can check out the page and let me know what you think -- I am still getting everything together for this business -- Because of all of the time I am having to spend at home caregiving to my husband I have not been able to run my insurance business like I would like too.. Doing these cans with the realtors and meeting with the business owners right now is enough for me to handle.
I know this is an insurance forum and I really think this can be used for an agent needing leads for mortgage insurance.
