I'm a Mac fan-boy and I love my iPhone. But I love Linux even more (It's a liberal thing... neo-cons won't understand the attraction to Linux, community editions, open-source, etc.) I ran Linux for many years but stopped when I got a new scanner that would not work with any flavor of Linux... thus I moved to the Mac... which is based on the same foundation... UNIX (actually FreeBSD... but let's not split hairs.) OS X is the "better" Linux in my opinion.
As far as private companies go, I tend to like Apple. They provide good products at a fair price, are responsive to their customers and same to the environment. It's the kind of company a liberal can love and to me is one of the best (or at least better) examples of capitalistic enterprise.
I find the same with Intel. They have a large campus near me and the engineers I know who work there seem to like the company and their jobs... although they tell me that Intel works them to the bone... long, long hours without extra compensation to their salaries (which ARE pretty good to start with... so it's not that big an issue. Guys know coming in what it's all about working there.)
Neo-cons on the other hand are always worshipers of the Microsoft model... greed, avarice, monopoly, etc. It works for them and their ethic. Screw anyone you can, make as much money as you can, and use that money to destroy your competition... as taught by the neo-con "god" John D. Rockefeller.
If any of you are running the new Android phone, let us know your experience. I run the iPhone because of the seamless syncing with my Mac(s), my cloud (Apple's MobileMe service) and the phone. Plus, "There's an app for that!"
