I'm looking for a great MP3 recording software program. Free is always good too.

What programs do you use or would you recommend?

I'm use to making .wav files and then converting them to mp3 and the program that I have takes forever to do.

I have a usb headset. I wish I had a free program where I just talk and it records it in MP3, so that I don't have to convert it.

This is why a MAC kicks butt, it comes with garage band and you can record into it directly, without a microphone, and you can download "switch" to convert files and "wavepad" to edit them, for free.

You don't have to have a "MAC" to have great, intuitive software; if anything, by having a pc, you usually have access to a heck of a lot more options (but to be fair, many of those options will be crap! lol).

Not that mac's are bad or anything; I just get tired of hearing about them. Mac, Pc, WHO CARES!!!!

But anyway.....
