By accident I ran into a situation were I have a 'lock' on a deal for $200K term each on husband and wife (sort of like 1st to die, but with less headaches). I need to get some quotes from 1st tier companies... Met, WCL, etc. I need a GA fast. Whom would you suggest? (Don't say BISYS.... I called the and they are totally disorganized.)

Have you checked into Lifepro. They seem to run a tight ship judging from the training sessions and discussions I have had with their reps. I'd check with James, WBunch or Bluemarlin as they seem to be the resident life experts on this forum.

Can you give us some idea of what you mean by disorganized. They have a quote engine that should make it a snap to look across carriers. What is the issue?

I called an 800 number for BISYS that I found on the web. I first spoke with contracting, but they said I had to "be in the system" before they could help me. They transfered me to someone else who had no idea what the first guy said and transfered me to someone in New Business who said I need to speak to licensing and contracting. I gave up. They are part of Citi Corp and it is obvious that they want large brokers and not one-horse shops like me.

Dunhill was recommended to me. They don't put their address on their website and that's an immediate turn-off for me. Nowhere on their web site could I find out what state they are in! They may be 'virtual.' I don't want 'virtual.' I want real!

I looked at the LifePro site and since it was recommended by a guy on this board I respect, I'll contact them in the morning and see if they want to take my business. They are in San Diego... at least the same time-zone as me (which could be important.)

I don't expect very much. Two small ($200K) 10 year term policies are not going to make anyone rich... so I'm not expecting a red carpet treatment or anything... just simple courtesy and competence.... and maybe a little friendly advice and assistance.

I use Lifepro and they are very nice to me, even though I don't give them a ton of business.
They have a terrific in house impaired risk underwriter and their people know the various products very well.
They also have a nice quoting engine on their website that you can use to run printable quote comparisons, that can be personalized to you and your clients. I too, highly recommend them.

Are you talking about LifePro in San Diego? Doug Andrew's outfit?

Found a GA for Banner Life. Is it common to not receive renewals on Term Policies? The commission schedule they sent me is pretty weak I thought...

Am I missing something?

Most of the competitive carriers do not pay renewals on term.

Thanks Mel. I was really wondering about that. I'm just so used to seeing 10 year & lifetime renewals on Final Expense and other such life products that I thought maybe I was getting hosed.
