Need Some Independent Agent Advice             Go to Top

Let me apologize in advance for being a noob who's about to ask a question that's more than likely already been answered a thousand times.

Here's my deal. I was a registered investment advisor for ten years working as a captive agent for a major insurance company. Last October, I had a minor mid life crisis and became disenchanted with the entire industry. As a result, I quit doing everything necessasry to be successful, handed in my resignation letter, bought a half pound of grass, and decided it was time for me to rest up heal the mind a bit. I was relatively successful, ( 50-75K ) in production annually with the exception of last year (20K)...my passion was gone.

Since then, my attempts at finding a new an exciting career have royally backfired. There's little that I find myself qualified or interested in doing other than selling insurance.
You can say may career has taken a complete 360. A majority of my assets are drained and now I need to make some cash....I've done it before, I sure as hell know I can do it again. ( I have a vast roladex of people I've done business with in the past )

My question specifically ( and if anyone could help me out....I would be eternally grateful ) Which company could I get appointed with to become an independent insurance agent? Forget securities, I simply want to sell life ( term, WL, UL, and LTC ) I want to be strictly a 1099 agent or sub agent....who's not required to attend any bullshit company get togethers, and who never has to deal with any management. Production requirements are not a consideration for me...I can meet them. I'm looking for just a company where I can get licensed with all major carriers, work out of my home office, and receive my checks at the end of the month.

This seems to be a really cool forum filled with some very knowledgable people. Thanks again to anyone who can direct me where to go.

Be careful when you ask people to "direct you where to go" as profanities are not tolerated here.

Welcome aboard, you deserve a rewarding career!!
