I must say this about VIMO. I don't like them. They also plug companies at the same time they sell the leads to you. I just ran a sample lead last week. Sure, the client gets the names of agents that will call. He also gets a Norvax style quote with a chance to "apply now."

I asked VIMO about this with no response.
But it is buried at the bottom and by the time I call they have not gotten that far yet if at all because 50% are going in spam filers....

After reviewing some of the comments on this thread about HometownQuotes, I see there are a few things I must address.
Bob – Thank you very much for your kind words. Please give Ambrosha a call. She has something for you. Our Agent Services Department is always here to answer questions or offer suggestions – anything to help agents with their businesses. Thank you for giving us an opportunity help you and for referring others to us.
Mr. Peeler – We DO NOT sell consumer data. It’s as simple as that. I don’t know how this could have happened, but I assure you we had no part of it. I am interested to know what name you used when you filled out the bogus information. I don’t think our agents should have to pay for your “dummy quote.”
Scott (STIBroker) – Yes, we have a relationship with Ehealth. However, I do not see how an online insurance agency (with no outbound calls being made) is a threat to you or any other agent, especially when the consumer is forced to fill out a complete insurance application before he or she receives a quote. As a former agent, I can empathize with the desire to not have a lead going to 100 agents, but this lead only went to two agents. We offered eHealth and there are advertisements that are presented on our Thank You page as well. Please keep in mind that it is my job to look out for the agent AND the consumer. If our company cannot deliver a positive consumer experience, consumers are not going to be as responsive to the agents that received the lead.
To conclude, I am willing to put my money where my mouth is. I will be offering a special deal to members of the forum.
Until the end of June I will be offering…
$100 in free leads.
No commitment.
No contract.
No credit card.
Mention promo code *Forum Deal.*
Give us a shot to prove what Somarco and the other agents we work with already know. If you are not happy with the results, at least you gave us an honest chance and we can part as friends…no questions asked.

is this not the email that you send the client when they hit send......and when you View My Matches you are taken to a page that list two agency's and a link to YOUR ehealth site to sell them,,AND THIS LINK YOU HAVE THE RATES RAN FOR THEM WITH A APPLY LINK Visit eHealth Insurance for Instant Quotes,.....,,so are you in the lead selling business or insurance sales and what is the deal with 4 other lead co's listed at the bottom.....but really....I do not buy my leads from the same people that are competing against me.....I am sure if one of these leads run the rates OR hit apply link your not going to turn the case over to one of the 4 agents that you sell the lead to........as far as wanting to know what was the name peeler put in to make the dummy lead.....I don't know about you but VIMO credits bad leads or dummy leads........
Well, well, well..... if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck and looks like a duck..... it's a damn duck... plain and simple.... ok boss man, u say that u dont sell consumer data.... well, something was done with it but since i don't have your "books" on my desk i have no evidence you dont... i only have this as fact:
FACT: within about a minn. of hitting submit i got about 10 spam for companies selling new cars, new credit cards, new home loans, swimming pools, new________ just fill in the blanks.
FACT:About an hour later i got hit with another round of bombings with spam.
FACT: the email address i used has only been given to one person... EVER!!!
FACT: your "thank you" page had about 8 companies to choose from
FACT: the next day i started reciving quotes from a company that was not on the list of "agents that will be providing quotes"
FACT: your in bed with ehealth insurance and somehow you are in some type of marketing agreement with VIMO
COULD BE FACT: a friend of mine has used u for some time and when i informed him of this he said... "wait, i get their leads why did i not get the "dummy lead"" he contuined to say they didnt send me the lead... they bumped me, i'm not getting all the leads i am supposed to.
FACT IS FACT!!!! YOU GOT BUSTED!!!!! LOL
JUST ADMIT IT, CHANGE YOUR POLICY AND MOVE ON... OR MOVE OUT.
I know of at least 2 agents who have sent you letters to cancel due to this fisaco
"Over the next 24 hours, we will help you find the best local agents for all of insurance needs......"
looks like one might be a local but the rest are out of state(and I do count anyone in the state as local...but really when your claiming to be hommie's).......and not even a link to his site....but a email.......soooooo lets break it down....

This is not true, the quote automatically appears just like norvax. (I am the agent who never even got the lead)
I have mixed emotions about this. I think Hunter is a good guy and I might take him up on his offer. BUT...someone in our office entered information on their website for a quote today. Seven responses including EHealth and none of the agents are within 350 miles of us. And the applicant is reminded multiple times how easy it is to get "immediate" quotes with EHealth.
And by the way...for those of you that didn't know how EHealth works, if you are a prospect with cancer, diabetes and heart disease (Yes...I said "and" and not "or") on the initial quote, EHealth quotes a preferred rate from every carrier. And they don't bother to add in the $3 monthly charge from GR or any other fees from any carrier. It's mentioned in very tiny print.
Not just eHealth, the Norvax engine (used by eHealth and others) is a mess. You never know what rates are going to come out the other end. All rates are preferred unless you indicate you are a tobacco user. The plans may APPEAR to include the optional benefits (such as copays, maternity, etc) to the uninformed but are actually the stripped down version of the plan selected.
The concept behind Norvax is to show the best possible rate even if you are 5' 10" and 350# . . . just as long as you do not smoke.
The fools who use eHealth and apply online are in for a big surprise when their final offer comes through.
Of course this is not just eHealth, the quote mills and many agents will quote preferred out of the shoot just to get their attention. They quote Copay Saver, Right Start and all the other junk products with limited benefits in a run & gun approach to get apps submitted.
I would imagine the placement rate for eHealth and similar operations is quite low.
As for HTQ, I have used them for about a year. They are not perfect but I have done better with them than anyone else I use currently.
Yes, they do sell to the quote mills & telemarketing shops but so do most (if not all) the other lead sources. A lead generation company has to sell each lead a minimum of 3x to make a profit so the more buyers they have the more money they can put back in to lead generation to kick up the volume.
Most of the issues raised about HTQ has to do with rogue affiliates who are pulling fast ones to generate leads. I have "caught" a few of the affiliates and HTQ has been quick to rectify the situation and terminate the affiliate.
There is more customer service from HTQ than any other lead source I have used. As long as they deliver quality leads, give good service and have a liberal credit policy, I will continue to use them.
NQ priced themselves out of the business and Vimo forgot the idea is to serve their client . . . the broker.

no.....its if the agent can not get the lead with in min's on the phone and they start clicking the links the agent that purchased the lead is hosed.....

well out of all the lead co's I have tried they are the better of all evils......turned on my leads last night and bam 3 leads in 20 min's(so i cut off the leads).....1st one...45 min convo and feel good about getting a app and sent out rates and info out(and was the only agent to call that evening)....one answering machine....and a crack family in houston......
I have to agree with Bob here, hometown's leads have done very well by me, especially on the group health side. I also have a guy who uses their life leads and the quality is much better than some of the other companies that we have used.
Also, Hunter is really a very stand-up guy. He has been around the forums for a long time, and was always asking and trying to see what agents would like better in a leads company. He has never tried to spam or promote his own company, unlike some other leads companies.
The ehealth thing is not so cool, but I think that the overall closing ration is not effected by that. If I am running leads, I am worried about a local indy agent first, then a national indy agent, then a local captive, then a call center, and all the way at the bottom of worrisome competition is ehealth.
