I made the mistake of trying to sell everything when I first started. Fortunately, I started making money in Medicare Sales right before starving last year.
If you seriously want to make a go of Medicare sales, get contracted with the best Med Supp carriers in your state. Then, sign up and get tested to sell Medicare Advantage with the top carriers. Finally, know your products better than the other agents in your area. Become the expert.
Are you even licensed yet? Florida is one of the hardest states to get licensed.
Where I live, the pass rate on the Life & Health exam is about 35%.
We seem to have a large number of posters lately who are asking about how much money they can make before they figure out what they might want to sell or before even seeing if they can get through the licensing ordeal.
I don't know why so many people assume it is a piece of cake. In most places it is not. I'm not directing this at the current poster especially and I hope he doesn't take this the wrong way. He may already be licensed and have his gameplan in place. It's just that we seem to have a lot of posts along these lines:
"Can I easily make 6 figures without knowing anything? If so, then I'll go get licensed tomorrow and start this weekend. What advice can you give me for my first sales?"

That's pretty much how I got started. If I would have known I was going to have to work this hard to get off the ground, I don't know whether or not I would have taken the test. I'm glad I did now, but it was a rude awakening!

Medicare Advantage Plans are a really good thing to sell. You get good money but is a tough market. You'll either have to find someone to set appts for you or do them your self.
Just an advice: in every field, not only dealing with Medicare, seniors are really delicate to talk to: you gotta be patient with them. Many will be adorable and invite you over for lunch; while others will be waiting for you with almost not interest and ALL of them, in both cases, have to be explained things even 3 or 4 times so they can get it. So, it all comes down to PATIENCE it's the key and if you take it you'll do great.
When it comes to MA, PDP, and MAPD plans there are alot of very complicated rules as to who can enroll and when they can...also very strict marketing rules you need to know...you really should get a veteran agent that will help you at least for the first 6 months or so.
