OK, lady I just talked to said her friend has "New Era" health insurance. Anyone know who this is. I never have, and a google serch produces a linkie to an affiliate site, i think. Nothing in google about a health plan called new era. Is it a discount card?
Thank you in advance for reading my blog.

I can't spell, I can't write..... and I can't be bothered if you dont like it... got it???
Haven't seen them in a while. Thought they were out of business.
They offered (in GA at least) a limited benefit plan and a gtd issue STD plan. Mostly junk. Thought I got something from them maybe 2 yrs ago asking for me to return all marketing material.
New Era is primarily a med supp and final expense carrier, but they do also offer an indemnity medical plan. I've seen it but don't recall all the details. If you want to learn more contact Ritter Insurance Marketing www.ritterim.com and ask for Jed.
They have a place. New Era is primarily a catastrophic plan. They do accept diabetics, but they are I believe a 1 million cat plan. Rates are real decent. People are taking people off of major med and putting them on New Era, that I dont believe in.

They aren't a Cat plan - they are traditional MM - inpatient, outpatient (with rider), Doctors Co-Pays, RX, etc . . .
The difference is they help or totally pay the deductible for inpatient if you get services performed within their PPO.
Im not sure where you see that new era is major med. On there own website www.neweralife.com doesn't mention major med. Yes there are riders for everything like doc visits and rx. I am looking at thier brochure and it says $2,000,000 catastrophic health plan, an individual basic hospital & Surgical Expense policy. Now if they just came out with a major med I would like to know.

Tom: Why are you always positioning these mini medical plans as major medical? Do you always have to be one of the first to defend these limited benefit plans? Its NOT major medical.
