New Recruit             Go to Top

I am new to the insurance world, considering getting licensed. I have been recruited by NAA, NY Life and Bankers. I know that starting a new career is difficult, and I just want to make sure that I have all pieces before I choose whether or not to move forward. My first question is whether or not you have to have good credit in order to sell life insurance. I have a 1 year old foreclosure on my record. No other derog other than that. Is that going to affect what company will offer me a position?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Of the three companies named NYL is the only one I would personally consider and the foreclosure will probably preclude you being hired by them.

NYL is the only good one. Ask them. I would imagine there is more derogatory than just the foreclosure.

Just think, you are entering the financial services industry with less than stellar credit.

Apply to several companies and see what they say.

" I would imagine there is more derogatory than just the foreclosure. "

Why would you imagine if she said that was all there was?

" Just think, you are entering the financial services industry with less than stellar credit. "

Many people do it everyday.

Mandy - if you have trouble getting appointed - call me. I can hook you up with a life and a health connection.

I've gotten reps in with bankruptcy, liens, foreclosures - just about anything but a felony. Your advance will be limited to 4 months during a probationary period - but you CAN write.

Sounds like you're working with some very high quality folks...

Why am I not surprised?

Who do you think you are to criticize me? Because I don't operate on the same level as you?

If you have something to add, please do so without the insults. It makes you look bad.

No offense Rabbi - it was you that threw the first stone by "assuming" Mandy wasn't telling the complete story. I just commented upon your crass remark to her.

LOL @ the drama in this place lately.
