Good afternoon,

This question is more or less suggestions please. Can anyone suggest a good independent agency National, & or in Georgia that a new agent like myself could attach to?.....(other than Healthchoice)? I am looking for training, good automation, & support...there are so many companies out there my head spins looking at everyone- I am in the metro Atlanta area....I've already reached out to Mark Rosenthal ( who btw is terrific) just wanted a short list if you will....I'm finding it a challenge going captive in order to learn the ropes...I may need to start independent & on part-time basis to learn from a good mentor who will have a great deal of patience. I truly want to learn this stuff the right way & one that is ethical, and true to the industry. No MLM's, or "get rich" hype. This is a new career for myself, and will be in it for the long run. BTW is it possible to start as an independent vs. captive...realizing the work ahead....my sleeves are rolled up & ready to learn....Thanks all!!

I would suggest you find a local mentor in order for you to be successful. It is not just learning from the book, your mentor should be able to go out with you to the field. If you know what you are doing, there are many IMO you can choose for. If you want part-time, there many local agencies should be able to take you as part-time agent.

I work through the Sellin Advisor Group. Sellin Advisor Group, Inc. - Home. Their website isn't anything fantastic looking, but their quality of service is. Steve Walther is their VP of Broker Relations. Give him a call, I think you will be impressed.

Portland Health Insurance, Portland Life Insurance, Portland Car Insurance

I'm just south of Downtown Atlanta in McDonough. If I can be of any help feel free to contact me. I've been in this crazy business for 15+ years. It's always great to see someone who wants to approach this business the right way
