New/York/Jersey....             Go to Top

Just got off the phone with a buddy who lives in New Jersey....but works in the City.

He says that he and everyone else living in NJ...pays a flat rate for their health insurnace...and that no one gets turned down.

He's paying about $300 per mth...and he is 43.

What kind of insurance do you call this?

PS. He's with one of the Top carriers up there.

That would be called guaranteed issue, however, I thought the NJ rates were much higher. I think TXINSURANCE furnished us NJ BX rates on a particular thread here, but they hit the $1,000's/mo.

He is not paying $300/mo on individual in NJ - not possible.

Rates are in the thousands.

It is called SOCIALISM and does not work, huge failure.

I'll get more details this week.

He's a pretty sharp dude...(high level programmer, educated).

We'll figure it out...and get back to this post.

Both states are Guaranteed Issue causing limited competition and high rates. There are some lower rate plans but they have extremely limited benefits. You can check by going to eHealth and entering fictitious info. try zips 10001 and 07502

Try Googling Socialism or Socialized Medicine I believe the nY / NJ flags come up.

It is amazing people like Obama think this is a good model.

Here's a good post on Socialized medicine...but instead...mentions Oregon.

A 43 yr old male in NJ can get a pretty good plan for about 258 a month. It does have some limitations, but most people can live with them.

Re: New/York/Jersey....             Go to Top

Drbsells I challenge you to post the details of this $258/mo plan there is no way possible. I have researched extensively and since plans in NJ have no medical questions and take everyone the price is unaffordable.

Please post the $258/mo plan for a 43 year old male to prove me wrong - I don't buy it for one second.
