I took the plunge. I didn't want to tell anyone, but I paid my $10 a few weeks ago. I finally got my enrollment materials last week and met with a few folks.
Everything worked pretty good. The only problem is that the two customers I met with, would not tell me their name or where they lived. They refused to give their age. When I asked to see their driver's license, they just snickered and said, "who the hell needs a license to drive?"
Anyway, they signed the papers, but gave me no information. I turned the apps in and yesterday got my payment...a shiny green hotel to put on Marvin Gardens, one of my many properties.
Wow, does that mean that I can now sign up under you?
I will send my check for $10.00 promptly at the end of last month.
Thanks for this great opportunity. I know you got the shiny green hotel because you got in early and since I waited so long I'm going to get a lot less. (Damn, I should have listened to you.) Any chance that I could at least get an olive drab tent when I start giving this away to all the poor people?

*$#%&*^#! another great opportunity down the toilet. I don't think I'll ever make it in this business. Why didn't someone tell me to sign up earlier so i could have at least gotten a mom and pop motel, now you are even out of tents.
I can spot you another $10 Frank. Of course some terms and conditions will apply. I can't disclose them yet though, but that's OK; go ahead and sign the contract and I'll send you a new $10 bill eventually, I'm not sure when, but definately sometime.
Frank, I hate to see you get caught up in this and lose your $10, so here's a honest, legal opportunity from a man with a valid drivers license...

Insurance0707 never defended using term life for final expense???????
I don't think she was seriously considering term as a final expense product. She was only pointing out that low priced coverage such as term is not generally available to seniors. While I can't say this with absolute certainty, I doubt that any agent would recommend term insurance for anyone looking for a permanent plan of final expense.
I like this site because of the ability to discuss things. This thread in particular has degraded to ridiculing and attacking others.

Thanks Superchief, that's good enough for me. You are in the insurance business so I know I can trust you even though I have never met you and don't have your phone number or address.
Forget the conditions I don't need to know what they are, I know they will be fair and in my best interest. I can't image anyone who would think that an insurance agent would try to screw another insurance agent out of $10.00.
You have been in the business a long time and that is all I need to know.

Is it okay if I just send you a signed blank check so you can add the "small s/h fee?
I don't want to run the risk of missing out on this deal because I haven't paid the s/h fee. I wouldn't want to find out I didn't get the s/h fee to you soon enough and you already have all the people you need?
The Department has received a number of inquiries from Georgia resident licensed agents who have been solicited through e-mail and facsimile transmitted advertisements to sell Zero down, No Cost, No Premium, Zero Premium or Zero Payment insurance coverage to their clientele. These advertisements will typically come from license agencies or agents who are located outside of the State of Georgia and offer to pay the agent a fixed-fee payment for each policy of coverage that is procured, most often the sum of $250.
The coverage most commonly offered is advertised as "final expense" or "final arrangement" whole or universal life coverage for the insured in the face amount of $15,000. Though not always directly indicated, coverage is targeted to those who are 65 to 85 years of age. To the extent that the communication discloses such information, it states or implies that the coverage provided under the policy will be paid for by unidentified others having a beneficial interest in the remaining face amount of the insurance policy being offered. This coverage may also involve undisclosed premium financing arrangements. These solicitations to agents will characteristically fail to directly disclose the name of the insurance company providing the coverage, but indicate or imply that it has already been approved for sale in the State of Georgia.
The Georgia Department of Insurance has opened an investigation to ascertain whether, and the extent to which, these solicitations directly violate any Georgia Statutes and Regulations applicable to the sale of universal or whole life insurance products.
Pending completion of the Departmental investigation, all Georgia licensed agents are cautioned by the Commissioner to refrain from entering into any agreement or arrangement to market or sell a life insurance product where an unnamed individual or company is offering to pay for all or a significant portion of the insurance coverage on behalf of the insured, where the insurance company offering the product is not disclosed up front in any advertising about the product, where there is a third person or entity having a remaining beneficial interest in the balance of the coverage beyond that afforded to the insured, or where you, as a licensed agent are not being directly "appointed" to market or sell a final expense life insurance product by an insurance company that is offering the coverage in Georgia.
GreenSky, you seem to be defending ins0707 quite a bit...........
I'm not trying to defend anyone here except that there is room for interpretation of what was written. My "take" on the post is different than what you think was the underlying meaning.
Also, if I feel someone is being unjustly attacked, should I not express my opinion? Is it okay to disagree with someone without being put on the defensive?
