Condoms and the pill are far less expensive to the taxpayer than paying for the support and upbringing of a unwanted, unsupportable child. nazi that all ya want...
Oh, I couldn't agree with you more, but think about the practical application for just a second. Who's gonna decide? The government? You? Who's gonna enforce it? The County Agent? Sounds good on paper...
In a pissy mood today moon?
Pot calling the kettle black?
------------------------------------ Don't steal - the government hates competition.
Besides the large headache you can get from crunching these tables, I think you can take away that on average America was doing very well reducing poverty until the Great Society started to kick in. Then it went totally stagnant.
But then also poverty itself is a moving target since government is as free with re-defining poverty as it is free with re-defining the results of IQ tests.
Yes, Lg, the church (I assume you mean Catholic) has the same basic historic motive for promoting births as minority groups do today. Of course, you miss the fact that the Church wants babies born to solid and moral families. Not so with the other groups who are interested in breeding for solely political reasons.
I like this WND article title, Former Pastor Ted Haggard accused again!
More quality...........................Was he not the go to pastor for the ex. prez?
No, he was the head of an Evangelical Assoc. that lobbied in DC.
I understand what you are trying to do though. You are trying to show that there was some hypocrisy in what happened. The thing you have to realize is that people go to church because they know they are sinners, error prone and imperfect. If we always were sinless, there would be no reason to go to church. So what happened with Haggard, as bad as it was, is the epitome of why we need to go to church and need His love and forgiveness. Because we all fail.
From what I have seen and read, Obama is neither Christian nor Muslim. He is a Liberal, which is a religion unto itself. There is no room (or need) for an omnipotent being when Man can be the measure of all things.
[quote=moonlightandmargaritas;130929]That's certainly one way to look at it.
On the other hand, many believe that when you hold yourself out to be so holy, that's it's not unfair to expect you'll be held to a higher standard.
Some talk the talk, others walk the talk.
Rationalize it any way you want, but the truth is that like so many of the dollar-driven "mega preachers", the guy is a charlatan.

Don't get me wrong. He was a complete hypocrite. I don't go to a mega church, never have. I've always had an issue with people who make their living off of preaching the Word. To keep paying thier mortgage, they need to show that they are living a righteous life at all times. So their public lives become a veneer. That part I will never understand.
My point is that people of Faith are just trying to become a better person, someone who asks for forgiveness when we mess up.
