Yes, the Nobel prize is so meaningful these days. Al Gore won one for Science Fiction.
Gene Roddenberry should get one post humously for the Andromeda tv series. They should also give one to the pet rock guy.
Not to forget Yassar Arafat. A fellow who never saw a busload of children in Jerusalem that he didnt think needed to be blown up. As a result, he also was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

You bet, Winter. Good attitude you have. It's obviously over a rhetorical change in direction, not over actual results. But, the switch to fresh air from the 8 years of neo-con toxic atmosphere is starting to see results. Positive change comes more slowly when the Oval Office constitutional paper shredder is turned off.

Personally, I think the Real Housewives of Atlanta were more deserving. At least those ladies have proven they can fight, stand up to a fight, and go back to being friends after a fight.
If Obama has any integrity whatsoever, he will cede his award over to Bill Ayers, who created the myth, anyway.
Oh, and where to you think that $1mm will go? Betcha it won't be going to any charity! Maybe the Nobel committee was feeling sorry for him, having to take on a job that only pays $400,000 per year.

I think I heard a big, collective "HUH?" from all over the world. In the UK it was apparently "WTF?"
The Committee now awards the Peace Prize on the come. As stated by one of the members, it isn't so much about what has been accomplished (nothing at all) but more about the hope of change.
Change we can believe in, globally. I think folks in the U.S. are catching on to the Obama BS a lot faster than folks in Europe.

He is working in some areas where if he actually made some progress I would be okay with his getting the Nobel Prize (such as communicating with Muslims, trying to achieve nuclear disarmament) but jeez it does seem like they are giving him a prize just for thinking about those things and for not being George Bush. Might want to actually see how he does.
Anyhoo. I can roll with it and actually find it to be useful. If it means the Europeans respect us now and dont hate us and they have confirmed in their own demented way that Obama is not Bush then fine. What next President Obama? Does this therefore mean that they are going to play ball with us on Afghanistan, sanctions on Iran, and taking Gitmo detainees? Since you have all this love worldwide and are not George Bush, where's the beef?
Obama's father and hippie chick mother abandoned him when it fit their needs so it is fulfilling for him to have the crowds and the world love-bomb him. However the rest of the country is looking for a job, affordable health care and to not be killed by Al Queda. Be nice if he actually ends out with some accomplishments there.
As some of the national papers have reported, it does sort of put him in a little bind in some ways. If you get a Nobel Peace Prize it makes it more awkward to come out and talk about smacking Iran and the Taliban around the next day even if it is needed. Not sure how all that works out. He can talk that over with General McCrystal and John McCain who is beginning to surface again.

I am a really neat guy. Although I did not accomplish anything in my last job and well, I didn't even finish it. I talk real good. And no, I have not accomplished crap yet, but I have promise. No, No I don't back up anything I say and yeah, I make a lot of promises, But hey, they like to hear that stuff. And besides I will be long gone by the time the bill comes due.
My point? Well I know I haven't done anything yet but could you go ahead and pay me like I actually did produce something?
