As discussed, the Afghanistan thing is going to grind Obama down hard over time even though it is barely on the radar screen for a lot of people at this time. The left is against him and so is some of the right which wants to take aggressive action against radical islam but does not want to lose that fight by getting bogged down by trying to change Afghanistan's culture. (example, George Wills just called for withdrawal or at least a plan).

So he is losing the left on gay issues, war issues, and a possible wimp out on health reform.
He never had the Right but the right is becoming more galvanized around federal spending, health reform, tea party issues etc. Unlike during the campaign where they just stood back and watched McCain take a watered down position on everything.
The center that moved to join him on the left has retreated back. The polls show his greatest loss is among independents.
Major losses in the House coming up in 2010. Possibly some Senate seats. Obama needs to smarten up because the political climate will never get better for him than it has in the last eight months. Gawd, if you cant get a health refrom bill through with the entire senate and house stacked with dems what do you expect after 2010.
I do believe that President Not-Bush is about to become President Obama very soon. Not there yet but give it another six weeks.
I haven't seen the polls for a couple weeks. Must be 45 or 42 or something in the toilet by now. I woulnt give him any more money for anything because I dont like to invest in losers but that's just me.
Gonna be lonely for him too without Dodd and Harry Reid come 2010.
Change you can believe in.
