Obama and Walter Crankcase

Same day as Obama (with declining credibility) goes on TV to build trust with the American people around his health care plan he decides to take a side journey to go to the funeral of Walter Cronkite to align his image with that of the "Most Trusted Man in America."

Coincidence? You decide.

You're assuming that 1) people remember Walter Cronkite, and that will be tough for anyone under 55, and 2) people watch the news long enough for the picture + soundbyte.

I think neither would be true. Ha!

But would that not also be true of Obama in regard to remembering Walter Crankcase? I guess I am only saying that he is playing some angle here. I just havent figured it out yet. This is, after all, a big day for him and as we know, Joe is the funeral man for the second and third tier events. This would of course be a good day for Obama to be in favor with liberal media (moreso than ever anyway and especially since some are faultering a little) and we could agree that they know who Walter Crankcase is.

I am merely speculating. Only Glen Beck has the true answer.

Why did he attend? I really don't know. He certainly isn't "of the generation" who watched Cronkite, anyway. I though VPs were supposed to attend funerals. No, that would be of dignataries. Oh, who cares. Perhaps it's an excuse for if he screws up tonight's speech - "oh, I was just so distraught at Walter Cronkite's funeral, that I just ....." and so forth.

And I guess we have to wait til tomorrow to know what Glenn Beck is referring to.
