Just passed my test today!

Now whats the fastest way to make my first million......?
I'm young, and motivated, and pretty good looking! Watch out! hahaha!

Any advice for the new guy in town? I'm considering door knocking qualified prospects... Since its how i've generated my mortgage business for the past 3 years.

Congrats on passing the test. What we don't need is any more competition in California!

As far as making your 1st million ... borrow 20 million from your parents. Invest it at 5%. Wait one year. (Repeat as needed).

I know that this question wasn't directed to me, but here goes:

What prelicensing course did you take?

I was fortunate to get enrolled with AD Banker, the instructor is a rather good teacher and has over 30 years experience in the business. The mix of "theory" and his practical knowledge helped.

Did you take a class or do it online?

I chose the class option, personally I tend to do better with a class room setting. Personally I get too distracted by studing on my own for great lenghts of time.

How difficult is the exam?

It's a difficult as you want it to be. Given the instruction, the text, and the CD training that came with the course, I was rather well prepared to take the exam in July and pass the first time through.

The kicker for me was the final session, we went over a ton of material, as well as discecting the methodology of the questions, e.g., why was the question written this way, which answer is the ODD one out, that sort of thing. Once I got this into my thinking process, it made the test that much more "Reuben Friendly".

Now my only problem is waiting to hear from NYL or Mass. Mut. to see which one wants me to sign the contract.

You can give the California Department of Insurance a call, 1-800-492-6907 or 1-916-322-355 a call to see what the delay is. There's a 3-4 week delay from the time the results are passed to them from the testing centre.

You can also do a name check on their web page to see if you're listed.

I took the test at the end of June and wasn't sent my hard copy of the licence until mid July. I waited a few weeks then checked online.

I took Mike Russ and passed the test in 35 minutes. A co-worker of mine took some online course and has failed twice now.

I took the course with AD Banker and passed the 1st time.
Took the test in June and received my license in late July.

This site has been helpful, I started to sign with an IMO and saw the postings on this site, ran from them as fast as I could.
