Yup. And since you don't follow developments in American history, let's review some other facts as well.
When Bush was president, whatever other issues one might have with him, there were two Secretaries of State, one a man and one a woman. Both black. There was a Secretary of Labor who was both a woman and an Asian minority. The Attorney General was hispanic. In addition, there was already a minority on the Surpreme Court but in the eyes of democrats they do not exist because democrats do not value diversity unless they are democrats. This is one of the things that keeps them clawing at Palin as well. The liberal women will not stand against the predatory destruction of a woman running for office unless that women is a democrat. I am not saying that much is not fair game, but much is not as well. No one is going to allow the comedians to refer to Michelle as a slut, for example or to make sexual inuendos about her children. Liberals will not stand against it though, because, again you only support democrats. Not minorities and women in general. Olympia and Susan Collins may play ball with Barry but they are not owned by him. He is about to see what that means.
Olympia Snowe voting for Sotomeyer? You mean as opposed to Barry filibustering the appointment of John Roberts and referring to his judicial opinions as "unAmerican." Rightly or wrongly so, Snowe and most Senators of both parties believe that elections have consequences and a president gets to nominate someone of his persuasion and in the end you must accept that unless the person is beyond the pale. That is what helps hold the Union together. That is not a philosophy that Barry believes in as evidenced with Roberts- all of his talk about bipartisanship notwithstanding. In addition, Olympia is one of Barry's worst nightmare's when it comes to healthcare. Because she does not function as a partisan hack on the nominee, and because she supported the stimulus, she has enormous cross-party cred with moderates. She is the primary reason/leader as to why a bill will not be passed this year and indeed if you read the paper today you will see her calls for delaying it. Al Franken doesn't have that kind of clout.
In addition, while continuing to point out that I come from a backwater, neo-con state you might note that both of our Senators are women. And my state was the first to have a woman as Senator (maybe second, not sure) and the first to have a woman run for President (Margaret Chase Smith). Again, none of those count because all of those women were/are Republicans and this violates the dem rule of who can advance and who cannot in this society. The dems think they own women and the minorities. Not all of them agree.
The title of your thread is "the world is coming to an end." Hmmm, why dont you tend to the world coming to an end in your state and I will tend to it in mine. No doubt California is ahead in that aspect as well, given the liberal wacko influence that has come home to roost.

Never said that, although I can see how you would interpret it that way based on your lack of familarity with the American policial system. At no point, have I suggested that a third party would win- only that it would be a major factor.
Obama won by six points - more or less, can't remember. In other words, a three point shift would have evened it. A combination of Barry sliding in the polls and a combination of third parties (both centrist and on the left) could siphon off several more percentage points even if none of those parties amounted to much.
Yes, I know the electoral college comes into play. Ask your buddy Ozone Gore whether a few votes matter or not even with the electoral system.
Most Republicans will concede that McCain was not much of a candidate. What that means is that "not much of a candidate" came within six points of the superstar. Unfortunately the economy became critical and McCain was on record saying he knew nothing about economics so people went with someone who also knew nothing about economics but was willing to act as though he knew everything. Not sure that will work next time around.
Barry is beatable. Not easily and most likely not but the idea that he is invincible is absurd. One screw up in the economy or with North Korea or Iran and he will be toast. In addition the libs dont like the fact that we are still in Iraq and will be up to our eyeballs in Afghanistan in the next election. In addition, people voted for Obama in a roundabout way to keep Hillary in the limelight. Hoping that she would be in the administration. Barry has effectivly neutralized, evicerated, and contained her now so that she is no political threat. On the other hand she will not draw any votes next time around either.
I will say what I said before Obummer was elected: Aside from the oratory, Barry's real power comes from the ability to promise people free stuff. When the time comes when there is no more free stuff to give out then we will see how popular he is. No lib is going to get elected in California these days by running around promising more free stuff, and that is the fate that Barry faces sooner or later. As they say in your beloved Southern states: "That dog don't hunt."

Having spent most of my life in the liberal loonie bin known as Maryland, and moved to the "neo-con" state of South Carolina I can tell you this: racism is far worse in the north than it is in the rural south, or the south in general.
