If your page has no text on it it won't rank; that is the problem with Flash. Many pages are just Flash. Flash isn't the problem; the problem is the absence of text.

If you have Flash and text, your ranking will be based on the text and the Flash will be ignored.

Load time might be a problem. You can code around it with CSS. You can put the flash file last in your code and still get it to show up on the top of your page.

You can also write code in PHP (and I assume other languages as well) that keeps the Flash file from loading at all if the page loads slowly. On my sites if a visitor uses dial up, they will probably see a static picture instead of the flash file.
Sorry, but this is incorrect. Google has no problem reading and determining Flash, This is a very Bad Myth.

Read Googles Webmaster Blog about Flash and the ability to index and understand Flash.

If your going to give website advice, you really need to Make sure it is Correct. No wonder so many people are confused with Proper Structure and Ranking.

I just looked at your site, Maybe its my browser, Just plain ole IE-7, but its all messed up on my end? a Big Blank Blue Square for the heading?

Is that really any of your Business? and what is your point? Sheer Awesomeness? I doubt that very seriously.

Update...Thanks to all for sharing your thoughts

I've been working on this web thingy for only several months, oh yeah... with the help of Dave Miller doing SEO work for my site. I really don't have a clue about what Dave does, he talks in laymans terms..no fancy line of BS..just clear, honest advice but I still don't get some of it.But... I've done what was asked of me and... low and behold...i checked one of my main keyword phrases today and I'm on page freakin two of google So I guess I'm saying that I'm one happy guy. I never would have imagined that I could move up so quickly with so much competition for the market I'm targeting.

Funny thing is, I can't remember ever being told it would be "easy" like many of the ads I see online. I was told it would take time and work...both of which I committed and wow !

I like it. I noticed that one of the carriers you list is Farmers. In Arkansas Farmers is a captive agency since 2008 so I'm just wondering have you heard any rumours of that happening in PA?

I like it. Any idea how much it would cost to make my site "professional" and SEO friendly. I made it and like it but I know its horrible for SEO and still has that ameteur feeling

I think you site is GREAT! I have been building my new site for the last 3 months. I haven't gone live yet for the same reason you are asking others on here. I want it to be perfect.

Mine is not much unlike yours witht the exception I kept it to 3 colors other than a few pictures.

One thing I added to my site is a glossary. This I hope will help me recieve more leads for the fact they can feel as though we will provide the most information about our products.

I like the Refferal program you have on there. I am doing the same type of thing, just didn't consider putting it on my site. I will for sure now.

I have shown my site to a bunch of agents that are a lot more seasoned than I am, and they have all agreed that the more information you provide the better chance of someone getting that war fuzzy feeling about the company they are getting a quote from. I think you are right on track! I have looked over many other agents sites and wonder how they generate any leads from them at all. They are dull uninformative and don't really give anyone a reason to stay on their page. Then you see them making post on here saying they cant figure out why their bounce rate is so high.

Looks nice and decent. You could add some function to the homepage so the images inform you if you keep your mouse over them. This helps users to confirm that they are really going to the section they want. I know the images are large and you can't miss click, somehow it's just more comfortable for my opinion.
