my office mate and I are looking for ways to reach out and contact people/individuals/companies that need trucking insurance.......we are extensively trained and hungry

Can anyone offer up advice.....all help is appreciated

That is a highly volatile market there man. Policy lifespan average 1-3 years tops. There is no end game in that nor will anyone buy a book full of trucking. I know I would not.

And you'd better be up on all the insurance and DOT regs and fully staffed for the service calls asking for side-of-the-road proofs of such compliance.

I know agents that made money on truckers. Most of them burned out the good CSR's they had in the process. It's a paperwork and customer service nightmare.

In my market it seems like Progressive is the go to 100% of the time & nobody else can beat them. I'm always not experienced in trucking.

Fmcsa site gives you a lot of relevant info- # of drivers/units, operation, cargo, and some insurance specific info (xdate, carrier, etc). Have to search by company name or MC/dot # so a little tedious.
