UPMC - PA Carrier Access

Where can an IA get a quote from UPMC? They are a very competitive carrier, but require a $5M+ WC book to even be considered for appointment.

They will also allow their licensed health agents access to the work comp product....so thats a potential route to take

and yes I agree .. UPMC is writing any kind of comp they can get their hands on, as well as buying up all the little nursing homes, home health care agency, etc. in Western PA.

Crazy they are a non profit doing it all tax free while their CEO took home a $13M paystub last year...

I sell UPMC ACA and Medicare...but I had to go through a broker to do it.

A potential reason that they may be writing work comp is that their biggest competitor, Highmark sold their entire work comp department last year.

Thanks folks. yes something seems fishy about them. The whole non-profit thing, and conflict of interest. Plus not to mention they are now one of the assigned rights to oversee/regulate home care in PA.
