Just thought that I would share with you my good news. I passed my state licensing exam today. I took the life/accident/health exam. It was kinda tricky but I took my time and I scored 80%. I am so proud of myself.

Congrats Michelle... 80% works; and many don't do quite as well, with reports of multiple attempts before passing. The test is designed to be tricky, it seems.
What mkt do you plan to work...? Lots of info here to help you succeed. Go get-em.

Thank you guys for the support. I took self study with license2go. The course is really easy to follow. The practice exams really get you prepared because you can not move on until you score 85%. I heard that the series 6 and 7 exam is much harder. I can't wait to take them. LOL. I will wait until March before I jump off the deep end.

I was thinking about starting in Life and Health. After seeing Suzy Orman endorse health insurance today on my local news.

If you are going independent, there are some good resources here on the site... suggest you check the links below.
Avoid getting licensed with companies that will not offer you an unconditional release, if you so desire... Many new agents make the mistake of getting hooked with this and that company, only to find out later there are much better options, companies and contracts... and it is too late then, you are stuck. So be cautius and know who you are dealing with before signing up.
Congrats! Here in WA they don't tell you what your score is because they don't want to hurt anyone's feelings if they didn't do well. (Think my state is liberal enough?) I think I got very close to 100% on my exams the first time through. Glad at least they gave you a score!

Good luck to you!
North Cackalacky doesn't give the score either, just pass or fail.

Congratulations!!!
I wonder if the lady that gave administered my test would have given me a hug, and a jelly doughnut to make me feel better if I had failed?
..mmmmmmmmmmmm jelly doughnuts.........................
I've been talking to New York Life through the whole process , but I received emails from Farmers, Mutual Omaha and Thrivent Lutheran. I took the Ohio State Exam.
I'm really thinking about joining HCO and IHIAA.
